Freebird: $5 Uber/Lyft Credit With Promo Code URBDAY1

The Offer

  • FreebirdĀ (app that gives you Uber/Lyft credit/cash back for completing specific actions/visiting retailers etc) is offering an additional $5 back when you use promo code URBDAY1. Remember the code needs to be added on Freebird, not Uber or Lyft.

Our Verdict

This in addition to theĀ $35 you can already get for signing up and using a referral code and the $10 you can get from code ‘GOLONG’.Ā This new $5 code also works for existing users.

Has anyone used one of the restaurant cashback deals through Freebird?

I did more than a week ago and I still see no cashback from it.

Wondering if that’s normal.

I used it once and saw the credit within a day or two, IIRC. Make sure you paid with a card you’ve linked (Profile > Linked Cards). You can contact support at Profile > Support, then press the + button on the top right.

Is this supposed to add $5 cash balance right away, or an additional $5 cash back after a ride, or add 500 points?

This one is $5 cash back after a ride. That $10 code from Rideshareguy was an outlier when it added to the cash balance.

Does anyone have an issue with this app where it will default to using Uber Cash? Eg it uses the platinum credit when i would prefer to save that for ubereats

What you can do is after ride is requested in Freebird, open Uber app and click Change payment and then select which card you would like to use.

Abusing this goodwill is going to force them to clamp down on how they issue codes. This seems like a good way to ask for trouble.

Agreed. I immediately thought about Doc when I received this code for an actual birthday, but I held off from submitting it for this reason.

Doesn’t seem to matter. Mine shows expiration date of November 30 2019
