Our Verdict
This offer is only being found on Membership Reward-earning cards, check those cards and AUs to see if you got it. No luck for me 🙁
This is obviously an incredible offer. Most people value MR points somewhere between 1 – 2 cents per points, making this deal a 40-80% discount on Amazon. Even better is that the offer can be used to purchase an Amazon gift card for the future or hundreds of different brands of third-party gift cards sold on Amazon. You can save even more on your Amazon shopping by using our tips in this guide.
There is lots of time to make use of these offers until the end of the year, so after saving it there isn’t much reason to hurry. If you don’t mind Amazon gift cards (e.g. you don’t need credit card protections), easiest is probably to do $50 Amazon reloads or buy $50 Amazon e-gift cards and be done with it. Otherwise, you can use the offers up over the next 7 months.
We appreciate when readers use our Amazon affiliate links for their Amazon shopping. I’ll link in various links which can be used to support the site.
- Our Amazon affiliate to the home page
- Link to reload your Amazon balance
- Link to buy an Amazon e-gift card
- Link to buy an Amazon physical gift card
- Link to buy third party electronic gift cards for lots of popular brands like AirBnB, Uber, Hotels.com, Safeway, Netflix, Safeway, Hyatt, Lowe’s and many more
- Link to buy third party physical gift cards for lots of popular brands like AirBnB, Lowe’s, Whole Foods, Southwest, Starbucks, Staples and many more
Does this apply to items sold by third-party sellers and not by Amazon?
I think Amex may be doing the slow-roll-out thing again. None of my cards had the offer when it first came out, but it shows up on an AU card today (or a couple of days again, but definitely not 06/04/17)
edit: a couple of days ago*
What is an “AU” and why does everyone have so many AmEx cards? I don’t have any of those cards.. so confused right now.
AU = authorized user. People have lots of amex cards to take advantage of offers like this.
Thanks for the AU reminder! Wife had it on her PRG AU card, as well as a $10 off $200 on Amex Gift cards.
I had totally forgotten about her AU PRG card.
DP,
Three separate MR cards with offer. (PRG, ED, ED au)
Reloaded $50 on amazon gc with each on different days.
All three posted the 2000 MR points three or four days later.
Anyone know of a Twitter hashtag for this offer?
Unfortunately not
Pretty sure I added to both my green and plat cards. Used the plat and it disappeared from the green. Was only able to get for one card. Sweet offer though, thanks Chuck.
Purchase made on June 6. Offer disappeared from list the next day. 2,000 points were credited on June 9.
No points posted after “congratulation” email, and the added offer is gone from the list.
Added the offer yesterday, received “congratulations” email, Amazon posted the charge right away/same day. Went to check if the points were added, but no points on no saved offer anymore (double-checked before buying-the offer was saved).
What could go wrong? Why the offer is not listed? Usually, it is either active or has Redeemed status
