The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Disney+ partnered with Walmart to give a $40 discount on the annual Walmart+ membership fee ($98 regular cost).

Offer ends January 31, 2024.

Our Verdict

There are lots of these deals to get Walmart+ for around $49-$58 per year; this is another option. I’m not seeing any verification of Disney+ status to use the offer, but

As of 2023-12-07, I still get the $49 offer directly on walmart on pc and app. That one says for rejoiners as well.

FYI, in case anyone is eligible through some kind of assistance, medicaid, snap, government assistance etc. Walmart does a $49 plan if you have those things, like prime does too I think.

As bad as prime is, I think it is still marginally better. The reason is depending on how walmart chooses to ship your items under the walmart+ membership, it could be common carrier, store employee, or third party subcontractor (which walmart apparently owns now). If through the 3rd party option, which really is walmart, there’s an expectation of a tip. You don’t tip common carrier, and employees at the store are not allowed to accept tips for some reason. This issue for some makes it not worth it. It’s not terrible if you do say a $100+ grocery order and leave a tip, just like some amazon fresh or whole foods orders, but if the 3rd party carrier is literally deliverying a $3 item, then its a little outrageous to have to tip on that. I don’t have Walmart+ anymore but even on regular orders, I shit you not, they will fedex one tube of chapstick to my house. lol

If you use a lot of groceries, I say walmart is better, their food and household items are often cheaper in store for me than online. I use pickup though since it’s only a few miles from my house and I don’t like the idea of groceries sitting outside when it’s warm.

You really have to do an analysis of what you order, how often, average order size, and guess how something would be shipped. For simplicity, I always ignore all other perks like music, tv, streaming, etc. and just look at the shipping benefits.

Walmart’s never allowed store employees to accept tips and they enforce it. It’s a fireable offense. They’re not alone in not allowing it, most retail stores don’t, but I think they’re a lot more aggressive in policing it and firing employees that accept tips.
