Stop&Shop, Giant, Martin’s (page 5)
- Giant/Stopandshop/Martin’s have an offer for May 28 – June 3: Get 3x fuel points on the purchase Mastercard gift cards.
Gift cards generally don’t earn fuel points at all at Giant/S&S/Martin’s, but occasionally they release offers like this to get points on gift card purchases.
Gas Points Details
Every 100 points gets you 10¢ off per gallon at Shell, up to 20 gallons. If you have 1000 points, you’ll get $1 off. If you have 1500 points, you’ll get $1.50 off per gallon (max $1.50 discount in most). Points can be used at partner Shell locations.
Points are now usable on groceries as well, with a value of 100 points equaling a $1 discount.
- You have 30 days to select whether you want to use the points on gas or groceries, then 30 days to actually use them.

- Points usually are available immediately, but I’ve had on occasion where it took a day until they showed up and were usable.
Our Verdict
Given that points can be used to discount groceries as well these deals are more widely useful. Use a card that earns a bonus at the grocery.
Note, many SS/Giant stores have implemented a $2,000 limit in gift card purchases each day (previously the limit was $5,000). They also require putting it all on a single card. Also note, some SS/Giant stores now only award points for the first purchase of the deal, so be sure to buy the full $2,000 worth in a single transaction.
Next week’s ad (6/4-6/10) shows 3x on VISA GCs. I know some people on here prefer those over MCGCs, so something to keep in mind this week. Also, there’s 10x on Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, & Express (6/4-6/10). Those two sales are showing in S&S and Giant Foods circular for next week. I haven’t seen Martin’s circular yet, but assuming it’ll have the same deals.

101 question: can mgc be used the same way as vgc? Any places where vgcs are accepted but mgcs are not? Been always using vgcs, but since S&S are putting on household limit, I’m now looking at mgcs as well. Thanks.
as far as I can tell, only costco accept vgc but not any other cards.
They accept every card but Amex online.
what can you do to cash out master GC? seems not easy to use.

Also saw the similar ad near the GC rack. Purchase 3 MCGCs whith some groceries together, got 4500+ points just now.
Check your Amex cards for 0% purchase APR offer and load that prior to getting this if you are using an Amex to buy. I got 0% APR for 12 months.
When buying the cards by themselves, the points do not show up on the receipt. If you buy a grocery item along with it, the points will show up. You can always return the extra item after the fact, just don’t buy something perishable or they will have to throw it away.
I always bought 2 or 3 cans of tuna for years, just to not to be obvious to AMEX, if anybody looks.
the points usually would show up in your account within 10 minutes, so I rather wait.
Back before they only allowed one card for GC purchases, I would sometimes split the total between two cards (easy to do at S&S). I suspect they’d allow you to pay partly in cash even now, so the amount wouldn’t be that telltale $505.95.

Confirmed. Received points for two separate $500 MCGC x4 transactions in PA (2 diff locations) yesterday.
Did not and will not attempt the same at SnS.
Thank you! I just checked the ad in my area in MA and there is a limit. So last time I must have only read the ad in the post. I bought 3x$500 but for some reason the point didn’t apply automatically. I only got 1500 points credited back into my account manually.
S&S ad had limit last time, but I did three separate purchases and got all my points. This was in the NYC area.
How much did you spend in each transaction? Did you use the same Rewards card each time?
