Our Verdict
Max this out with $1,500 in Visa e-gift card purchases by purchasing 6 $250 cards. There is a $5.95 fee per card, your total will be $1,535.70 minus the $75 discount = $1,460.70.
After 48 hours from your first order, you can try another promo code and do another $1,500 order. There’s also a limit of $2,000 in e-gift cards per rolling 48 hours.
Stack with a shopping portal for up to 3% back or up to 5%-6% back with the Capital One Offers/shopping app. Some are even getting a targeted 18% back with the Capital One browser extension. I’m not seeing the promo code mentioned yet shopping portals, but it can’t hurt to click through and use that instead of our above-mentioned affiliate link.
A reader mentions there’s also a targeted Citi Merchant Offer for 1.5% back which can be saved to your Citi card.
Hat tip to readers Bryan and Peter
These are back
Seems to need $100 exactly…can’t go up to higher amount even if it’s capped at $5.
Interestingly I noticed that you can buy $500 now (but not with the promo)…used to be only $250.
It actually works for values under $100 too, not that that makes sense to do. I’m not seeing the $500 max though. $250 still seems to be the limit per card.
Yep. Looks like they fixed the $500 thing. The preset buttons only went to $250, but the type in box said $10-500. It let me go to checkout and everything too with $500, though I didn’t buy. I just tried again and now the box is limited to $250 again.
I’ll add that the site looks a little different, so I’m thinking somebody screwed it up on the redesign but it got fixed quickly.
My capital one offer (not capitaloneshopping) posted yesterday, was 4%, thanks DoC :]
Yes, my CapitalOne Offers posted on May 1, 2023 and so with everything I paid $1,333.34 to receive $1,500:
$1460.70 giftcards.com order
-$73.03 5% Capital One statement credit
-$21.91 1.5% Citi Merchant Offer bonus
-$32.42 2.22% Citi DC CB w/ R+
=$1333.34 for $1,500 of Visa Virtual Account Balances
The cashback from capitaloneshopping.com posted successfully 🙂 even with the 18% cashback offer which is amazing.
Anyone else have awful problems with Citi and the merchant offer? It shows as “Enrolled” but if you refresh the page, it clearly doesn’t. Calling in has been fruitless – I had a rep promise to credit me for these missing merchant offers credits for the last few months and then nothing happened. Going to open a BBB case shortly unfortunately and not feeling like I want to add to that pile of missing cashback.
Search for Citi in the comments on this page; there was plenty of discussion about it earlier. This offer apparently worked for some people but it’s VERY hit-or-miss.
Yes, I receive mine no problem. Make absolutely sure you only activate the offer on one of your Citi cards or it will only work on the one you most recently activated.
Is the $2,000 limit on a calendar month?
Is anyone having difficulty using these at AARP Rewards? They have always worked before , but I can’t seem to get any orders to go through now.
NVM; can’t get it to work with a regular credit card either. Seems like a sitewide AARP Rewards issue.
Seems dead. Promo not active.
is it dead? tried several codes, but none worked.
Is there an email to contact capital one offers for missing cash back? I noticed only capital one shopping has email contact, can’t seemed to find one for capital one offers.
No, you have to call in. In my experience, there’s a lot of confusion by the reps on what you’re asking for. I found they refer to these as “Merchant Offers” (same term as Citi uses) and you end up getting transferred to the “Product Services” department.
If you get a targeted cashback offer on a specific product, do you have to buy that product or will the cashback work on whatever you buy through the link? Any DPs?
Troy Works on any product bought after clicking thru thru that link. Worked for me at Walmart, BBB etc.
