The Offer

Direct Link to offer (contains our affiliate)

  • Giftcards.com is offering virtual $100 Visa gift cards with no fees attached you use one of these promo codes: FLASHZERO, NOFEE, FLASHVISA, ZEROFEE. Limit $500 in purchases per promo code. Only works on the $100 denomination Visa gift cards.

Our Verdict

Similar offers come up periodically. Unfortunately, they appear to have stopped allowing these offers to stack with a shopping portal, and readers have confirmed that it tracks as ‘ineligible’. (I wonder if it could still trigger threshold requirement spend, e.g. on a portal signup or the like.)

Pay with Paypal to get 5x with the Freedom card this quarter. Or check your Citi Merchant Offers for an additional 1.5% back offer.

Good day! I know these (giftcards.com) don’t code as “online purchase” on something like BofA, but do we know what these code as? Does this code as an “office store” purchase which would be beneficial for a card that has an office store as its “extra cashback”?

Thank you in advance for anyone who has the answer/experience with this :)!

The Merchant description is “POI FUNDING TRANSACTIONS” and the Transaction Category is “Cash, Checks & Misc: Other Expenses”.

Thank you, Eric 🔗 :)! Was hoping it would be an office / business category for office / business extra cash back credit cards, but I guess not XD!

Now I wonder if these would code as an online purchase if I use PayPal to pay? I see giftcards.com supports PayPal payments now when I checked it real quick today!

Any recent DPs rolling these into Costco shop cards?

I have had bad experience during the last deal. One 250$ order was cancelled by Costco. I suspected large amount on a Debit card, so placed another 100$ order with a different card, which was shipped.

DP, these are usable for LIRR NYC payments. You can spilt two cards there on the MTA app,
Edit: had 9% on CP1 + 3% BOA.

Do not know why you guys are so negative about it. Making money is always a good opportunity. So +1% is not enough and you want +5%?

This isn’t +1%, its no fees.

You do not understand. I’m talking about making 1% or 2% from this offer right off my computer. Most people still not happy and they want more? Or they just do not know how to play this offer?

Just had one of my Visa gift cards (black hawk) $199.34 out of $200 tried to use it and only 0.69 cents filed a claim with them what’s my likelihood of winning? Fraud was less than 60 days ago?

If they don’t honor I’m filling a FTC claim.

How it’s fraud. I’m not expecting it to be easy but I’m filing with the FTC if I get screwed on this.

Good luck with that, you don’t even have the right government organization to file a complaint with.

It’s been a while since I did a fraud dispute on a prepaid card but it’s little different.
I had to sign an affidavit saying I want’t one using the card fax all details and any supporting documents. Took some time but was able to get in my favor.
It was a bit different though as the card was physical. Also same card was used in 2 walmarts 42 minues apart in span of 5 minutes. so, it’d be physically impossible to use same card in 2 far locations so quickly.
I did have to pay the replacement card fee.

Yeah it was used at something called “lunarlions” I find it funny that I can’t use these anywhere online yet someone can who doesn’t have my cards cvv or pin can use it. Never again I’m liquidating all the rest of mine over the next week in safer gift cards I can load into reputable retailers.

The FTC regulates gc and they collect complaints, but IME, they don’t respond directly to the complaining party. They just collect complaints and take action if they notice trends. Someone used one of my gc (n com) and I’m sure that I didn’t notice for at least 6 months. I filed a complaint w BBB and I believe CFPB and they paid up. I had complained bc they wanted me to wait up to 90 days for their investigation and said that there was no guarantee that they’d pay bc gc are treated like cash.

Yeah thanks Google stated file complaint with FTC. I actually found another one of cards was compromised so now $400. I’m filing with them as a formality. I know I’ll have to escalate it just playing their game.

if you mean it was hacked..used by somebody, somewhere, they will make good for it. Just follow their rules on the website, and you need patience. Could take 2 months for a replacement.

If you have one expense, e.g. some bill where paypal isn’t used but only credit card is used without a fee, you’ll buy these cards with Chase Freedom Paypal @ 5%, then spend them by paying that bill. I usually do that with my medical payments

Thanks. Makes sense now. You’re getting 5% cashback from Chase for a Paypal purchase that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to make.

Use shopping portals before making purchases and you’ll potentially get airline miles. Even though the terms say no miles will be awarded if promo code not found on the portal is used, miles still posted on my account and haven’t been clawed back, more than 3 months after purchase. Made it easier for me to maintain airline status.

3% CB on Santander CC and Discover Miles. No need to be in physical store. They work for me on take-out rest when I give the card # via phone with the actual rest. No Uber, no door dash. The leftover I pay my NYSEG elec bill online.

I wanted to max the offer to $500, but I had a feeling and just bought a $50 to test it. Result, unusable on Amazon.. So if amazon rejects those cards, good luck with the other online stores. Do yourself a favor, don’t think you will be luckier, AVOID and sleep well tonight

Do not buy these pieces of shit. It is only redeemable by loading onto amazon which can’t be used for third party GCs now. absolute money trap

Why can’t you use it on Amazon to directly buy the 3rd party gc?

I am well aware of that post as I commented in it many times (although it’s fair to say that’s the case for many posts on DoC).

That post is about using your Amazon balance to pay for 3rd party gc. I was suggesting that Schemin attempt to purchase a 3rd party gc on Amazon by using the Visa gc. Why would that not work?

Sorry, misunderstood. I did see comments about Amex GCs working for Amazon balance reloads but not for orders. However I bought a 3rd party GC with one with no problem. Not sure about Virtual Visa GCs as I use them to pay insurance.

Capital 1 shopping does frequent promotions for 9-12% cash back on gc.com. If these codes invalidate cash back then these codes are extra useless.

Several DPs from last promotion that use of these codes invalidates cash back on C1 Shopping. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/giftcards-com-save-6-on-visa-egiftcards-100-denomination-only-promo-code-cyber6-cybervisa-visacyber/
