[Expired] Giftcards.com: Save 5% On Visa eGiftcards – $100 Denomination Only (Promo Code SPOOKY5, SCARY5)

Deal has ended, view more Giftcard deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (contains our affiliate – you might want to use a shopping portal instead)

  • Giftcards.com is offering a 5% discount in virtual Visa gift cards when you use promo code SPOOKY5 or SCARY5. Limit $15 discount. Only works on the $100 denomination Visa gift cards.

The Fine Print

  • Valid 10/31/2023 – 11/06/2023
  • Max of $300 worth of Visa Virtual Gift Accounts from Giftcards.com; while supplies last; maximum value $15.
  • Excludes Giftcards.com for Business orders.
  • Promo code is a one-time use code and can not be combined with other offers.

Our Verdict

This offer comes up periodically. Lately it’s only been working for the $100 denomination which makes it not very interesting given the $5.95 processing fee. You can buy three $100 Visa e-gift cards and get the full $15 discount. There will be a fee of $17.85 which is mostly offset with the $15 discount.

Stack with a shopping portal. Always check your Capital One shopping website and app to see if there are any special offers (I’m seeing 3%). We’re not yet seeing the promo code mentioned on shopping portals, but it can’t hurt to click through and use that instead of our above-mentioned affiliate link. Note: Giftcards.com sent out a memo to affiliates that the affiliates won’t get paid when customers use a promo code, so shopping portals probably won’t end up paying out either.

Check your Citi Merchant Offers for an additional 1.5% back offer.

They’re still trying to find takers for these crap deals. Giftcards.com just sent out new 5% off $100 promo HOLIDAY5. One time use. $100 cards have $5.95 fee. Max $300 in cards.

I did buy 1 of these using USAA shopping portal. The visa gift card cost me 100.75. I get back $10 plus 1.5% on the portal and 2% on my credit card.

Did it track though?

Note: Giftcards.com sent out a memo to affiliates that the affiliates won’t get paid when customers use a promo code, so shopping portals probably won’t end up paying out either.

It did track. I may not get paid but it was worth a shot. We shall see.

These guys definitely read DoC, last time it happened, they increased 5% to 10% after a week or two. Don’t buy them. Who in their right mind would pay 101$ for 100$?

“These guys definitely read DoC,”

“Now let me lay out the strategy to bypass their masterplan…”

Remember, they *need* to sell cards, we don’t *need* to buy. So even if their profit margin decreases, they might sell at a lower margin. They don’t have to sit on their cards just to snub a random guy on the internet.

Please charge me money to convert my fully fungible currency into somewhat less fungible plastic.

Was hoping to stack a giftcards.com discount with the 5% paypal category on my two freedoms, but this is a hard pass. You would be better off just paying bills.

The only way to come out ahead would be using PayPal with freedom cards and hoping getting CB from portals. In short – don’t bother.

Wait, you are telling me that I can pay $100.95 for a $100 prepaid card that is increasingly restricted in terms of where you can use it? SIGN ME UP! With the way the economy is right now, I feel like I am paying too little for goods and services so this will make me feel better knowing that I am paying more for things than what the store is charging.
