In addition to American Express removing the annual fee waiver for the first year on the American Express Ameriprise Platinum card it looks like the Gold Card from American Express for Ameriprise Financial has also been discontinued. This card normally came with a 25,000 point bonus and the annual fee waived first year as well, keep in mind it had the old gold features and not the new gold/PRG features.
Nowhere near as big as loss as the Platinum, but still worth noting.

You can still product change to this from Ameriprise platinum.
But why would you want to?
Glad I had P2 sign up for this last week. Wonder if they’re going to PC the card. I’d love for them to convert to the new gold card but I don’t imagine that will happen.
Well.. .darn…. I did not know the Plat was gone… was planning to get it when my paid Plat comes up for renewal later this year. Cheap way to get into AMEX Lounges. Bummer.
I hope they convert this to the normal amex gold card
The question is whether they would convert this card to the new Gold. I have Gold already but I would not mind having a second Gold for that x4 grocery category for the first 25K in spend.
Doubt it
I happened to close mine a few days ago, I did not want to convert to the new Gold card but out of curiousity I did ask and they said would have to be new application. Did not HUCA because did not want it. I don’t need a sometimes 4x sometimes 1x dining card.
Probably has to stay in the Ameriprise family.
Does this mean we can expect to see more cobranded cards disappear soon?
Don’t think so
Lucky I got this when it was 25000MR signup bonus. And it also have Gold card’s Amex Travel benefit($100 etc).
I have this card, and I don’t see anything about a travel benefit.
As far as I know that is NOT a benefit of this card.
I think he’s referring to the global hotel collection credit when booking through FHR. Shitty credit anyways, unless you want $100 off your $2000/night hotel room
