Our Verdict
Lots of major retailers sell through Google Express, including the likes of Walmart, Target, and Costco. I still like Amazon better, but the point is there’s enough stuff being sold on Google Express that most people should be able to make use of this for 33% off their daily purchases. Some people especially like using Google Express for heavy or bulky items to save having to lug those in; things like water, soft drinks, detergent, and paper towels.
The recent Amex Offer deal already expired so no stacking there. I’d be curious to hear if there’s any credit card bonus angle on Google Express (I’d assume ATT would work for 3x?).
If you’re new to Google Express, use a signup code for $10 off your first $10 order (mine is 3RAQ963S4). Won’t stack with this deal, but can be used separately; best way would probably be to make a $10 order with signup code and then do a $45 with NEWYEAR15 code.
Hat tip to SD
Yes, it is dead now. I got the same message “Sorry, the limit has been reached for this promotion.”
Yesterday I took my time to pick and choose the items I wanted for $45. If I knew that there was a limit, I would have hurried up a bit.
When applying promo, “Limit has been reached for this promotion”
GeX codes sometimes have daily limits. Might be worth giving it another try early tomorrow AM. I procrastinated as well because of the lack of stack-able offers.
oops exp 1/2/18. so guess its dead
Just ordered some bulky items that we regularly buy from Costco in-store, along with a 50 pound bag of ice melt.
The only sad part is the shipping, which the closest is 10 days.
Thanks DoC!
I purchased a 100 count of Forver Stamps as they are $48 -> $33 after promo. Normally these are never allowed to be discounted.
Are you able to use specific retailer gift cards on Google Express? Guessing no from my attempted mock transaction.
I think promo codes don’t work on gift cards.
Honestly tired of the bullsh*t trying to order from my local Petsmart, either through their website or Google Express. I lost most of the value of my last Ibotta refund because they let me order over $100 of product, then immediately cancelled $80 of the order due to being out of stock. If you can’t fulfill the order, let me know that up front please.
I have had a lot of that happening with Google Express. My recent 2 orders at Target were cancelled after 3 days of placing the order. Google Express’s customer service sucks and the prices have been all over the place and mostly higher than on the actual retailers website. Google Express will not last very long no matter how many marketing promos they run to attract customers.
Walmart have chosen interesting tactic since recent – it marked up some product for online delivery, either on their own site or via Google Express. So the coupon had just allowed me to buy old normal prices.
Example:
Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, 42 oz
Price:
$4.93
$3.24 In the store.
Previously I could just order online the same in-store price. (There were no other price.) Not anymore.
Warning: Google Express jacked up the prices at costco by more than 20%. This is in addition to the 10% service fee they already charge if you don’t have membership.
Thanks for posting that. I was was comparing prices between Costco and Sam’s and was blown away by the difference. 36 rolls of Scott TP was 33 at Costco and 45 rolls was 21 at Sam’s!
I also noticed this a few days ago while browsing Google Express, and then hitting up the local Costco. Not too keen on paying premium prices.
Also, something to note: Adorama doesn’t charge sales tax for orders made / shipped to my state, yet Google Express charged tax. Their explanation was that the order had NY tax added.
That tax almost negated my 20% coupon.
Got the $10 off some coffee for the wife! Thanks!
