[Dead] Google Express Shows up on Shopping Portal with 2%-4% Cash Back

[Update 2/27/19: This is no longer available. Giving Assistant sent out an email today indicating that cashback has not been tracking, and reaching out to users to verify what purchases they’ve made so that they can manually add the cashback.]

Google Express showed up on the Giving Assistant shopping portal with 4% cash back (some readers only see 2%). No product exclusions mentioned.

No other portals are showing Google Express yet. Odd that Giving Assistant – a smaller portal – managed to corner the market here, maybe everyone else is just slower to add new merchants, we’ll see.

Google Express often has promotions running, and this 4% is a sweet addition. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can buy items from dozens of stores, including Walmart, Target, and Best Buy – through Google Express, so if you see the item available via Google Express, consider the other portal rates vs. the Google Express portal rate.

Giving Assistant offers a $5 signup bonus when signing up with my Giving Assistant referral link (or anyone’s referral link) – after you earn any cashback, the $5 bonus gets applied. See our Giving Assistant review here.

If you set your Boa cashback credit card for online purchases, you will get 3% on all google express orders + any orders placed through website. And if you have the 75% more rewards thats total of 5.25% on all online orders. I tried with stores like stubhub, online donations, google express, even paying utilities through website, im getting all 5.25% cashback.. not sure if it will stay like this for good, but this is my new fav cc

William Charles Got a message from Giving Assistant regarding Google Express on Giving Assistant:

Hope this message finds you well! It came to our attention recently that Google Express has not been passing back session IDs to our system. This means our system hasn’t been able to trace cash back from Google Express orders to the shopper who made a purchase.

We have since turned off cash back with Google Express, but we wanted to reach out and make sure you receive any cash back you are owed. If you made a purchase at Google Express between 11/27/18 and 1/20/19, please respond to this message with your order confirmation and we’ll confirm with Google Express that your account can be manually credited. Thank you!

Got that message as well. Actually I made a purchase on 1/30/19 and they still told me to pass along the order details. It was very nice that they reached out (many sites don’t do that) and let us know. Big fan of updates like these from DOC and a big fan of Giving Assistant for their efforts.

I can vouch for all that say the CS is responsive. Very much so actually. I have a few personal contacts there if anyone wanted to e-mail them directly actually (I respond to their surveys and offer opinions/advice to them sometimes). Seeing Google Express (finally!) on cashbackholics com now as well.

So about $300/year on GE is where it becomes worth the upgrade

Actually 300 covers the upgrade. Break even point is 600

I signed up 20 days ago and did 6 purchases of $500+ each
Nothing showing on my account as of today so I am quite spectacle

PS I did sign up for the higher lever for $5.99 being that the mathematics for me worked

You should consider emailing or chatting with their support team, they are very responsive, and polite.

I can shed light on the 4% vs 2% issue. If you’ve had an account with Giving Assistant for a while, you got grandfathered into the Power Shopper level for free, and would see 4%.

If you open a new account now, you get 2% unless you pay $5.99 per year to upgrade to Power Shopper.

I know about this because, like some of the people above, I was wondering how I ended up at the Power Shopper level without authorization. But after e-mailing CS, I found out that nothing nefarious happened, except poor communication by them in not explaining that they were grandfathering in existing users at no charge.

If you downgraded or canceled your account by mistake after seeing the seemingly unauthorized Power Shopper upgrade (I did), e-mail their CS. They are actually pretty nice. They may have to manually credit you $5.99 after you reenroll, but they will work with you to fix the problem.

Thanks for that information. – Oh well, too late for that. I am finding that other portals such as Topcashback usually offer better rates than their paid rates so I guess I will stick with that… :\

I find whoever does the deliver for Google Express in my area, pretty no matter what, is just awful. They lose stuff, leave it on the curb, etc. It’s dramatically worse than ordering from the merchant directly. I can’t understand it. Unless there is a remarkable deal/coupon, I find going direct is better, since we’re mostly over the min order size anyways.

So does this mean Google Express finally has an affiliate program?

You’d think so, weird that no other portals have access yet.
