Today I received emails from my banks informing me that my cards were removed and my virtual card numbers were deactivated from Google Pay, anyone else? Seems a little early.

Stupid thing won’t let me cash out
1st tells me that I’ve reached the $200 maximum
When I’m trying to transfer less, it tells me that I have to have less than 5 Payment methods (I have ~50)
When I’m trying to remove the expired payment methods, it wants me to replace them with an active payment method. I don’t remember what I’ve subscribed to with all these cards; they have been there since the Google Offers (the Groupon killer) time
Can

Any way to transfer out with more than 5 payment methods?

Even crazier, I think I broke the code. I clicked fast a couple of times, and the transfer got initiated without the “you have more than 5 payment methods” error.

Well this sucks, GooglePay was a good way to use PayPal to get 5% back when a store or app did not accept paypal but accepted GooglePay.

Last I looked, US Bank Altitude Reserve awards bonus points for mobile payments made with Google Pay but no mention of Google Wallet. I wonder how long it will take Altitude Reserve to change the fine print on its bonus-eligible mobile wallet services.

Altitude 3x works just fine with Google Wallet.

Wallet only supports 10 NFC payment cards. Google Pay lets you have more and re-order so the first 10 are what appears in Wallet. Anyone seen a way to re-order online or something?

I work at Google. Google deserves this. The entire product management department is in chaos.

Add this to the long list of Google’s abandoned products. There’s a website dedicated to tracking these: https://killedbygoogle.com/

I have $0.75 and couldn’t transfer out anything <$1.

Google’s product management is chaotic. Firstly Android pay, then Gpay, Google Pay, now Google wallet.

They’ve been rugging products for literally decades. I don’t even bother anymore. Paste this one in the Not Surprised column.

Google Wallet was an old, discontinued app. I thought GPay was the new one.

One of the worst payment apps I’ve ever used. It deserves to die imo.

As I recall that was because someone at Google though it was a brilliant idea to kill the old Google Pay (that worked fine and fit how people in the US use their phones) and use the version that had been developed for India instead. It worked fine in India, because it was targeted to how the Indian people use their phones. It was an absolute disaster in the US and widely mocked.

But the manager that did it probably got their promotion anyway and didn’t care. Google is such a laughing stock nowadays because of stuff like that.

Out of curiosity (and to save me a trip), how do people in India use their phones?

In India, the Google Pay (GPay) app is used like Venmo is used here. It’s linked to your bank account and you scan a vendor’s QR code and pay for purchases. Not like the Gpay/Apple Pay transactions in the US.
