Previous deal was for a $30 shop card. This is an extra $10 and then the $40 off online as well. Seems like a good deal for people without Costco memberships.

If I am understanding it correctly, the $40 shop card is a digital card not physical. I wish it was a physical card because I would want to use it at the gas pumps.

If the $40 digital card can be used in-club, buy something in-club for around $40, then return it. During the return process, ask for the refund to be issued on a PHYSICAL cash card.
If the $40 digital card can only be used on-line, try to find a $40 item w/ FREE SHIPPING. After you receive it, return it in-club, once again asking for the refund to a PHYSICAL cash card.
