GrubHub+ Now Includes Free $10 Pick Up Meal Monthly In Some Locations

Update 4/14/21: Reader vc shares that if you’re in an area that offers the free $10 pick up meals each month they actually roll over month to month and you can have up to $100 in credit.

Update 1/6/21: Report of this being available in more locations. Obviously most areas still won’t be eligible unfortunately.

GrubHub+ is GrubHub’s unlimited delivery option that costs $9.99 per month. Lyft Pink now includes GrubHub+ and Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders get 17 months of Lyft Pink for free. GrubHub has now added a new benefit to GrubHub+ in some locations, a monthly $10 pick up meal.

Unfortunately these doesn’t seem to be available in most locations currently, but fingers crossed that it gets rolled out nationwide as this would be a nice benefit.

credit has officially been removed (with no communication) and replaced with a 5% back benefit for all orders – cancelling membership should trigger $15 credit to stay for another month

Also asked me to stay with grubhub membership with another $15 off for pick up so now have $25, don’t think will be joining again because I can’t pick up that’s why I have a delivery service so you get nothing for joining again, unbelievable. They hardly have any deals, just take your money like everybody else.

Above it states that the unused $10 credit rolls over month to month. I’ve experienced that it does not rollover and confirmed with support during a chat session that is does not.

Correct. Fine print explicitly states it expires after 39 days. Also, I learned it’s very scary (pickup order while at a taphouse last night). You have to check an extra box to get the credit to apply, it’s not automatic. Easy way for people to forget or not notice they aren’t getting the credit.

I got 3 months of GrubHub+ free through T-Mobile Tuesdays and thought I had $30 in credits smh. According to a comment below, you can’t use the $10 credit until your trial period is over and you’ve paid the first monthly fee.

I see the banner in my app. I’m in Sacramento. Can’t figure out how to use it though, nothing shows up in checkout.

Do you mean the banner for joining? If so, you have to click it and join. IIRC, you have to enter payment details.

You can’t use the $10 credit until your trial period is over and you’ve paid the first monthly fee. They’ve set it up so that it can’t be used as a freebie, you only get it every month after you pay the annual fee for that month.

That’s the problem. Choose pick up and there’s little to no restaurants to redeem your new “perk”

Read my post below, the $10 credit is only for paying subscribers not people who get it for free (through a free trial, Lyft Pink, or other offer). Even if you are paying for Lyft Pink, GH does not consider that a paid membership.

Where would you see this deal on the app if you had it? Under the “perks” tab?

So for some reason I got a $20 monthly credit when I signed up for GH+. I am in NY and I signed up in February.

I was also getting $20 (maybe for the first two months as you mentioned). Then for May even their email a few days ago said the following, my account shows only $10:

Cash in $20 of free food
Your $20 is now available to spend at checkout.* Spend it on a pickup order from your favorite restaurant!

Even in the fine print in the email, I don’t see the mentioning of first two months for the $20:

Free meal benefits valid for intended recipients only. Must participate in a paid Grubhub+ membership to receive free meal benefits. Up to $20 value per free meal benefit. Benefits will appear as a payment method in users’ accounts on a monthly basis for the duration of the offer. Each free meal benefit credit expires thirty (30) days after the benefit is applied to the user’s account. Valid on pickup orders only. User must apply the free meal credit payment method to their eligible order in order to redeem the benefit. Up to $20 will be taken off the eligible order subtotal before tax, tip, and fees. User will be responsible for any applicable tax, fees, and optional gratuity. Each free meal benefit is for one-time use only. This offer and free meal benefits are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash. Only valid for personal (non-corporate) accounts. Not valid for catering or group orders. May not be applied toward purchases containing alcohol. Subject to restaurant and delivery availability. Subject to applicable laws, Grubhub reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify any aspect of or the entirety of this offer, for any reason at any time, with or without notice, including, without limitation, if any fraud or technical failure impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the offer.

I contacted their customer service, they have no idea about this promotion. It was good getting 20$ food for 10$ membership, even though the membership is useless for me due to overpricing of delivery. It was good with spending Amex gold credits that way.

I also contacted the customer service thru chat and Twitter direct messaging but they are not helpful at all. I show them the email I got for May confirming that I should have a $20 GH+ in my account. One rep said it could have been an error during sign up. If it was an error then what about the email confirmation for each month 😂?
As you said, the membership is useless so will cancel it end of May since I was already charged until end of May.

Today, out of nowhere, I am seeing 20$ credits instead of 10$ that was showing till 2 days back.
