Worked like a charm this morning for pickup, my wife and I placed separate orders using our individual accounts.

I hope the GH coupons keep coming.

Odd, on grubhut, it shows expired at one restaurant, but not at a different one. Same pickup time and everything.

I seriously don’t know why I bother clicking these posts. Grubhub is always missing the good restaurants that ubereats has and then when I finally find on “Code Expired”. It’s no wonder they are losing money.

There are restaurants that will grumble about how we order through GrubHub/Door dash/Uber eats…. But at the end of the day, these promos are the only reason I decided to buy a meal from them. Sure they’re not getting 100% of the purchase price, but they would have gotten 100% of nothing if I didn’t get offers like this.

Meanwhile they’re the ones choosing to offer food via the platform

Not always. The platforms scrape their websites and create listings, then the restaurant has to make the snap decision to either cancel the customers’ orders or fill them, including paying GrubHub fees. There was a lawsuit this year because GrubHub was placing ads with a GrubHub phone number on the Google Maps listing for the restaurant, then sending them bills when customers called that number even though the restaurant had no relationship with GrubHub whatsoever.

They actually complain directly to you that you order through one of these apps? Never had that happen to me yet.

I was wondering if the restaurant or GH eats the $5. I’ve had a $5/10 coupon for the past few weekends but haven’t used it recently since I’ve still got many more uses of the AMEX Shop Small offer to use. At least that way the restaurant isn’t paying.

But i agree it is poor form for the restaurant to complain about your using it.

Funny because I had a local restaurant do the same thing to me. They said to call if I want to order. (They didn’t know that I know they were complaining because of the cut the delivery apps take). I explained to them I am only ordering because of the discount. No discount no order.

does grubhub allow you to store promo codes for future use before they expire like uber eats?

No. You have to use it while it’s still valid and you can’t even place a future order if it would be expired by then.
