Hilton Extends Elite Status & Free Night Certificates

Hilton has announced a number of positive measures for loyalty customers due to COVID-19. They are as follows:

  • 2019 Status Extension. All members whose 2019 status was scheduled to be downgraded on March 31, 2020—whether it’s Diamond, Gold or Silver—will automatically receive an extension through March 31, 2021.
  • 2020 Status Extension. We are extending your 2020 member status through March 31, 2022. This means you will continue to enjoy all the Diamond, Gold or Silver benefits you have access to today for the next 24 months.
  • Points Extension. We will pause the expiration of all Points scheduled to expire between now and December 31, 2020.
  • Weekend Night Rewards Earned on Eligible Hilton Credit Cards. We have extended the expiration date of all unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of March 11, 2020, and all new ones issued until August 30, 2020, through the end of next summer (August 31, 2021).

Marriott & IHG are both extending certificates but that requires calling currently. Radisson Rewards is also extending status & free night certificates.

Does anyone know if they’ll extend the $250 resort credit expiration that comes with the Aspire card? My card membership is in June and haven’t/can’t use the credit given the current situation.

I’m waiting on a response back from CS for the $250 resort credit now, called yesterday since I had to cancel Orlando trip next month.

Very well done on their end. I just got an email about my non-refundable stay at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa. They cancelled my reservation as requested a few weeks ago, and refunded the 210,000 points back to my account. Nice to see travel companies accommodate the disruptions going on

My Hyatt Concierge messaged me saying within the next week Hyatt will be making some announcement about status and certificate extension no particulars given though.

My Marriott status was just downgraded. I spent 20 minutes being transferred, only wanting to know why elite members are being punished in the middle of an epidemic when we cannot stay. Their corporate relations supervisor Shaq was not only rude but inattentive. I encourage DoC readers to verify status and consider joining us and our employees in staying elsewhere.

Just got downgraded to Silver from Platinum. If not for the virus I would have enough nights to met the threshold. Well the decision is easy then.

Canceled my Aspire card so should drop to Silver on April 1. Sounds like I’ll be getting a year of free Diamond status!

Let us know after April 1st. It’s not clear if complimentary statuses are extended or only earned ones.
