The Offer
- Hilton Grand Vacations (Hilton’s timeshare brand) is offering discount rates and points. As part of this deal you need to complete a two hour timeshare presentation and pitch. Deals are as follows (all included 25,000 Hilton points):
- Maui: 4 nights for $999
- Honolulu: 5 nights for $699
- Waikoloa: 5 nights for $699
Our Verdict
Normally you can get a better than public timeshare offer by calling in. You can read more about that here. Obviously don’t do these types of deals if you have issues staying firm and saying no. Hilton often have cheaper deals but not for Hawaii.

A semi-related DP Got the $199 3 night Hilton timeshare deal in 2021 (I think was valid for Orlando, Vegas, and a few other continental US locations). Details: – $199 + ~$25 in taxes – $199 refunded after presentation – $200 Stay a Night on Us Cert after presentation – 5K Hilton points after presentation (played hard ball on the phone to get this) – B/c of Covid I procrastinated booking this for like almost a year, and I’d say after the 2 months mark, they started sending emails for extra freebies thrown in if you book by X date, including $100 activity credit on your stay, 20k Hilton points, 25k points or an extra night on your stay, and an extra night. YMMV but if you book one of these I’d keep an eye out for these emails. I ended up getting an extra night for free – 4 nights instead of 3. – I booked it around a year after I signed up for the deal for travel 13 months after signing up (June 2021 signed up, June 2022 booked, traveled July 2022) – There were like 4 different HGVs to choose from + a couple regular Hiltons, the HGV we stayed at was our second choice since they didn’t have availability for the dates we wanted at the other location. It ended up being pretty nice and had daily free activities. They also upgraded us to a bigger suite for free. – The presentation itself was at a different HGV, but they provided snacks for breakfast which was nice. Went in expecting the worst but our guy was very chill, not a hard sell at all, I think he knew from the get go we were not gonna buy so once the time was up he let us go (might’ve actually let us go a little earlier). – You then go downstairs (at least in Orlando) where you’ll choose which hilton brand you want the cert to be for – went for Double Tree – they’ll sign, give you the form, and you’re then all good to go. Cert: – It’s a mail in rebate for a $200 MCGC (or VGC I’m not sure), so not as good as cash but better than nothing. – Used it in Nov, mailed it in a week after, but have not gotten a response yet, called and they had no record of it and told me to submit scanned versions of it by email. Submitted it last week and no response yet. I’d suggest scanning both the cert and your receipt before mailing just to be safe. – The DT we stayed at had very mediocre service, room also reeked of smoke and they had no other rooms they could change us to – got an extra 10k Hilton points from complaining. Beware – I put a deposit down for a package yesterday, and the sales agent says availability in April is “wide open”, when we actually do have plans to visit Hawaii. However when I called to make the reservation today, I was told that there’s “no availability in April whatsoever”. Then when I asked what’s the next available date, she said that April is sold out and May hasn’t opened yet. So basically, there’s no bookable date at this moment. I’ve done timeshare deals with other hotel chains before but have never seen this practice. Makes me wonder if they just want some interest-free loan from the deposits, just like those cheap flight tickets to closed countries during Covid. Eventually after putting me on a long hold, the agent agreed to issue me a refund. Overall, I wasted 30 minutes with the sale, 30 minutes with the reservation, and over 2 hours planning this “April” trip, just to get nowhere. I would suggest everyone to stay away from this deal. Definitely something fishy going on.

So the 699 is a basic hotel room for waikiki. For an extra 370 you can upgrade it to a 1 bedroom condo with kitchen. When I called in I was able to get. A 200 dollar night on us certificate. 2 luau/dinner cruise passes. And 20k points. In addition if you’re an aspire card holder you can use your 250 resort dollars at all of these locations. Deposit calling in is only 349

I can’t tell what actual accommodation type they promise. It’s strange because the vacation package says to see the promotion terms, so you go to that and the terms say for HGV the vacation package will specify the accommodation (studio or suite – but neither specified). Circular reference and nothing says clearly what you get.
It does say that the offer is one per family, and does not restrict how many are in the family, so it seems like they’d have to give you at least sufficient accommodation for a single family household?
If I could guarantee a suite I’d consider this, but a studio with a double/queen bed would not be good.
Can we switch the package to a different location in the US in case we can’t go to Hawaii due to unexpected situations? I’m planning to buy this but I have specific travel dates in mind when I would be in Maui. I was wondering if they don’t any availability, at least I could use the dollar value somewhere else at a different resort within the US.
Why would you do this? I’m from New York City and I’ve been saying no to panhandlers, prostitutes, squeegee man, etc my whole life. Why would you want this stress? I would never do this.
I recently checked into doing Orlando. The problem is you pay the fee up front without knowing availability. I have no desire going to FL in the summer. So what I have a year to book the trip. They could show openings in months that are undesirable. Anyone able to get available dates prior to paying for vacation?
After taking my name, email and state, HGV says I’m not eligible and offers lesser options in NYC, Chicago or Orlando
I should have waited for one of these offers. I am staying in Las Vegas for free in 2 weeks + 25K Hilton Honor Points. Researching the program, we bought off Ebay for $99 + closing costs. Good luck convincing me to buy one for $30K!

This offer seems decent but the targeted Westin mail offer is definitely superior. I don’t know if they are still sending at same pricing but I will be doing 5 nights at Westin kanapalli for 699 in may. Does anyone know how the Westin compares to the property Hilton is offering
Not 100% sure. I’ve done 2 timeshares pitch trips before both in Orlando. One with Hilton and one with an independent company that I don’t remember name of. I get a ton of calls for timeshares so I prob got put into a database Westin pulls from and then demographic info prob matched what they were looking for.
Assuming you’re at the Westin nanea. We did this a year ago and upgraded to a 2 bedroom. For 1k all in. It’s a beautiful resort with a full kitchen bbq grills and a nice pool and great kids pool. Expect a mountain/parking lot view.
