Our Verdict

Price doesn’t include taxes or resort fees, so keep that in mind. Resort fees can be considerable, e.g all the ones I saw show a resort fee of $44 per room per night. Personally that kills the deal here for me as it almost doubles the room rate. I’m also not a fan of these hidden hotel websites, but I know some people love them.

Pretty much all the hotels on the strip are owned by only two companies.

Before long a room will only cost 99¢. Then they will tack on the resort and parking fees and it will only cost you a total of $200 or more a night.

Honestly, I’d almost like that to happen. I play their stupid game and almost never pay the resort fee. For some reason, these hotels can’t get their shit together and the “high speed internet” crawls or sometimes just doesn’t work. The front desk is quick to waive the resort fee when you point this out. It’s one thing if internet is included in the price of the room, but if they’re going to try and charge a mandatory $40+ daily fee for it, it better work.

Based on the star numbers and location listed within the strip they would be either the bellagio or mandarin oriental. Bellagio rooms run the gambit of real nice to iffy. resort fees alone about $0 per night, then tax then $15 per day parking.

the other 5 star hotels on the strip are Venetian//palazo and WYNN/encore. Both much nicer than bellagio but they are in a part of the strip that wasnt part of the map, (north part of strip)

Aria, Vdara, and Cosmopolitan are also 5-star hotels on the strip. Vdara is easier to spot since a casino isn’t listed as an amenity.

All hotels in Vegas are pretty cheap during that time period!

+1 Not only are there a ton of limitations to this deal, but the time period between the National Finals Rodeo and Christmas is the cheapest time to go to Las Vegas every year, so there isn’t really anything special about this “deal.” Some of those properties (whatever they are since it’s a hidden hotel until you book) may not go down this low very often, but there are tons of deals for rooms in LV this time of year that are way less restrictive than what Hotwire is offering.

Agreed, this is not a deal.
