How To Get A Schwab Referral (Referral Requests/Offers Go Here)

Schwab has a nice referral bonus for new customers who open a checking or brokerage account and deposit funds – full details here. The referral bonus is only for the new member, there is no bonus for the existing member. 

Schwab has cracked down on referrals lately, and they actually verify who referred you before giving the bonus. (Name and email address, I suppose?) Dozens of readers seem to be interested in a Schwab referral, as people continuously leave comments on the original post requesting one. However, since there’s no bonus for the referrer, precious few people are willing to actually spend the time and give up their anonymity to give referrals to strangers.

Since literally a day does not go by when there aren’t multiple requests for Schwab referrals (despite the warning in the post not to do so), I decided to create a dedicated page where people can leave an offer to refer or can request referrals here. I’m going to delete whatever referral requests/ offers are found on the other page since it hinders the content of the post.

There have been offers in the comments before to refer, I don’t know if any of them are still doing so or not. In any case, this will be a dedicated page for that purpose.

If anyone is willing to help out fellow DoCers with a referral, thanks! Please do not leave your referral link as that does not help anyone (and only hurts them when Schwab denies the bonus). Instead, leave an email address where you can communicate and give over personal info requested by Schwab.

You can feel free to request a referral too in the comments here, I have no idea what your odds are to get one. Do not request twice.

The best way to get a referral is to find a friend who has Schwab. When I’ve given this idea to reader’s in the past, they’ve complained that they don’t have friends in the ‘hobby’ and can’t easily get a referral. I’d concede that it might not be ‘easy’, but I’d guess that most people who would put out a request on Facebook or other sharing platform will likely be surprised to learn that they do have a friend who uses Schwab who is willing to help a friend.

[Update: Readers note that they don’t typically ask for the name or email of referrer, so any referral link will usually work fine. Main thing is not to have hundreds of people using the same link since they then get suspicious and ask for more info.]
