[Expired] Hulu Black Friday Friday Deal: $1.99/month For Up To 12 Months (Ends 11/28), Add Disney+ For $2.99

Update 11/26/22: You can add on Disney+ for $2.99 a month (ad free version) after signing up for Hulu.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Hulu is offering a Black Friday special rate of $1.99 per month for up to 12 months.

The Fine Print

  • Offer for Hulu (With Ads) plan only: $1.99/month for 12 months, then auto-renews at $7.99/month or then-current regular monthly price.
  • Ends 11:59 PM PST on 11/28/22.
  • Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your billing period.
  • No refunds or credits for partial months.
  • New and eligible returning subscribers (who have not been Hulu subscribers in the past 1 month) only.

Our Verdict

Last year this was $0.99 a month, but the actual price of Hulu has increased $1 a month as well so that makes sense. Ad-supported plans are the only ones on sale.

Just noticed that on my Amex BCP, the $84 Disney Bundle credit now requires a lesser spend:

“Get a $7 monthly statement credit after using your enrolled Blue Cash Preferred Card to spend $9.99 or more each month on a subscription to the Disney Bundle. Valid only at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com, or Plus.espn.com in the U.S. Subscription subject to auto-renewal”

I got this $1.99 Hulu + $2.99 Disney promo in November 2022.
My upcoming charge for 11/20/2023 will be $10.98 ($7.99 Hulu with ads +$2.99 ad-free Disney+)

After $7 statement credit, I should end up paying $3.98 monthly.

Yes, I was looking at the same deal.

I’m going to keep an eye out for black Friday deals this year though too, as I’d really like to add ESPN+ too.

Capital One has a $5 cashback offer (your mileage may vary). It was in Offers on the Cap One desktop website for Capital One Quicksilver card. Ordered Hulu on 11/23. Received a confirmation email today (11/27) that $5 cashback in form of a statement credit is on the way.

i clicked on the link in the Cap1 portal but it looks like it’s the Hulu & Disney & ESPN bundle for $70. Is that what you bought?

anyone know if I sign up for Hulu (new account), can I add the Disney+ add-on if I have an existing DIsney+ account with the email (annual membership which ends next weekend)? I know it seems trivial but trying to keep the same account / profiles and watch history, if possible.

So, is it better to lock in the Disney+ “Legacy Bundle” price of $15 – $7(Amex credit)…or, get this decent deal and play it deal to deal?

I mean, I’ve structured my entire life on never watching another commercial ever again, $2 Hulu be damned.

FYI, Topcashback has $2.10 cash back on Hulu to be awarded after 30 days of having a subscription. Unsure if it will stack with this offer (did this offer last night, didn’t track yet).. I think it will track over 30 days, but YMMV

I’m in the same boat as you. It still has not tracked for me for a new subscription ordered 11/26.

Just used this promo so a few DP:
1) It worked with my Amex Plat even though I already have another active Disney+ account with the same card (will cancel that one)
2) The first month is billed separately, both charges from Hulu. Not sure about the following months.
3) According to Account page, the Disney+ promo is also for 1 year (the first planned higher charge is in 1 year)
4) It seems to be Disney+ without ads, even though I currently see both with ads and without ads as active services

My 2 year old is already asking for Disney +. He calls it “Mickey show!”.

He doesn’t go to daycare so I wonder how he even learned about it. Anyways I might splurge for this $5/mo bundle.

If I add Disney+ for $2.99/month, is it billed separately? and if so, does that bill come from Hulu? or from Disney+? Also, can I pay it on a separate credit card (I assume not, I assume it’ll automatically be billed to my credit card on file with Hulu). Trying to figure out if I can stack various promotions and offers and small balance credits all on separate cards.

They’re billed together from Hulu

I signed up yesterday and was billed (at least for the first month) separately. Both charges came from Hulu. Looking at my account, it appears that going forward it’ll be a single charge from Hulu.

If I add HBO max, will it be billed through Hulu? Asking to see if I can get Amex credit.

Yes it is, worked for Amex credit for me.

Too pricey. Peacock and HBO offer better deals on terms of ad loads vs. price.

Hulu should be free considering its ad load. Paramount is optionally free with its routine free month deals.

+1. Hulu ads are unbearable compared to other platforms.

I guess i’d only consider this as a way to get Disney for $5 (with $2 throwaway for Hulu)

You would have to PAY me to watch so many ads. Savings compared to adfree version come to pennies an hour which constitutes exploitation.

It’s worth it for Hulu movies as they only get 1 ad at the beginning and no more after that.
