Huntington Bank has launched a business Voice credit card. It’s quite similar to their personal Voice card, but much better in most respects. Let’s take a look at the new card.

Our Verdict
Bit annoying that this card doesn’t have a sign up bonus and you have to apply in branch. That being said the flexibility of the 4% categories is great and the categories themselves are actually useful. I can see a lot of people being happy with an extra $28,000 in grocery store spend annually at a high 4% rate. If you can max out that full $28,000 you’re earning an extra $560 compared to a flat 2% card. It’s a shame you can only pick one 4% category. Let me know your thoughts on this new card in the comments below.
Wow, I’m amazed at the confused mess that is the closest branch. First, happen to be passing by, so I drop in to pick up the card. “Business sales?” “$4.9 mil” (banker starts salivating) “Business structure?” “Partnership” “OHHH in that case I’ll need all the partners to come in. Now if it were a multi-member LLC…” Yeah nah I don’t think so. We ain’t all driving 2 hrs 1 way to come see you just cause you wont allow doc submission via email.
Some time later, swing by to grab the card for my fairly new side gig, a legit multi-member LLC. Nope, need to be in business for at least 2 years.
But what about my legit 8 year old Sole Prop? Nope, you guessed it, need to have articles of organization and a DBA on file with the state and have an EIN. What?
Oh, but guess what, you can now submit the docs via email. Then where TF is the online application???
It’s almost like they dont want any real business from me.🤯

Went into branch on 10/25 and showed the $700 offer to the banker. She assured me I would get the $700. The application was approved. I asked the banker to follow up with me on monday (today) to make sure the $700 offer applied.
She called me today and said the offer that would apply would be for $400, not $700.
Should I just fill out a CFPB complaint now because it doesn’t look like this will go anywhere?
If you applied for the terms of $700 and weren’t given a compelling reason, I’d do so. I have paperwork that states 10/24/24-12/31/24; open and spend $5k for 70k pts and would hold them to those terms.
Ran into this exact issue myself. Offer of $700 in hand. Only 40k pts initially awarded. Did get Branch Manager that I app’d with to push for my 30k remaining per the offer. Was told by csr on the phone and that same Branch Manager that they didn’t know where I pulled up the $700 offer (even though it was a public page on their site). They also stated that the $700 offer was targeted and maybe even by state/region.
Surprised a bank can play games with offers like this, especially when there’s no exclusion language in the offer. Seems like they’re just asking to get in trouble for it.
Although this card has been a pain in the ass to open and use, I am happy to report that paying federal taxes codes as a utility for the 4x. I paid via ACI payments with PayPal and while the transaction fee doesn’t code for 4x, the actual part of the transaction going to the fed did. Theoretically you could net ~$140 per quarter just by maxing out the 7k on estimated tax payments, though organic spend would probably be more lucrative for most
Just to update this did not work with paytaxusa (did not use PayPal there).
Anyone have success with recon? A bit surprised I was denied with high credit score. Reasons given were deposits on file (only small amount in huntington business checking), recent inquiries in last 5 months (1) and months since most recent inquires (4). Were there secret application rules I missed here? Also took a ridiculous amount of time for the hard pull to even go through and then over a month for a letter in the mail.
I am told the $700 offer requires a unique promo code from a mailer. The $500 offer is public though.
I printed out the $700 promo and showed it to the banker and they didn’t say anything when I opened, but unfortunately I was only given the $500 bonus so I think this is correct, though maybe it varies branch to branch where a banker can add a note for the $700 bonus, though mine clearly didn’t do that
Applied in branch 8/23.
Received Hard Pull Inquiry for Transunion 8/29.
Waiting to hear status of application….
Was surprised to see Hard Pull.
The $700 link now shows an end date of October 18, 2024.

The branch rep needed a Promo code when submitting the application, but one is not listed in the link. He even called Columbus to find out what it was, but they didn’t know either. Does anyone know the Promo Code for this? Thanks
Fwiw-Signed up in branch on 4/18 with a $700/$6K spend printout, and was approved for a $5K CL. Points posted on 6/30 with the purchase that took me over the MSR, so very quickly. I purchased 2x $500 VGC at a grocery store in that time, no issues so far.
Torg You mind checking credit reports in 2-3 months, to let us know if it’s reported?
I’ll remind ya 🙂
Almost exactly 4 months later, it’s not showing on my personal report.
Thanks!
Did you have a Promo code? It’s not listed on the link, and neither the banker nor Columbus could find it.
I didn’t have a promo code. I was able to show the rep the page on their site, plus handed her a printout of the page just in case. She said she’d note it on the account and it actually worked.
Thanks! That’s what I ended up doing for the $500. They eventually said the $700 was EIN specific but I’m glad to get the $500.
Applied in branch today but no instant approval and must wait for physical letter in mail
I applied last week and nothing heard so far. No pulls. I was wondering if the application was actually submitted.
