Ibotta introduced a new Chrome browser extension to allow users to get cashback when shopping online on their computers. Previously, Ibotta only worked in-app.

Looking through the supported retailers, not all stores work with the extension. Additionally, while the ordinary cashback rates are the same in app and in that list, it seems like some increased rate offers found in the app are not the same for the browser extension (at least they aren’t showing in the list – I haven’t actually downloaded the extension).
It’s nice that they are adding an online option as some people prefer shopping on computer. I wish they’d just have a regular online login, like other portals have, but it seems getting the browser extension is the only option here for those who want to use it on computer. Hat tip to reader N.
I’m not an expert on such things, but if you do get an extension can you still use other portals when their rates are higher?
better disable or uninstall it after using their extension
Its not realistic to do it every day
Yes. People do so all the time.
Chrome, the snoop king of browsers, yeah, no…
Given the privacy issues with Chrome, and especially with Chrome extensions, I think this is a terrible idea.
Care to elaborate on those issues? I’ve not heard of them
