Does anyone know if these extra points count towards status since they are “base” points? I’m 6.5k points away to spire. A single night would push me over.
They need to get their properties to actually deliver some service and amenities, rather than doling out more diminishing value points

Yes, all public paid rates you qualify for count, as long as it doesn’t put that rate under the stated minimum (see T&Cs).
So happy. Worked for me. I have five nights planned in December starting tomorrow. Two nights at intercontinental and three nights at holiday inn. The offer says if you registered for 3x, then no need to register for 5x, but I did anyways and received email confirmation of 5x.
The detailed terms says rebooking is required. Only today and tomorrow counts.
So I am canceling and rebooking some stays. Luckily no change in rate.
Stays that were booked before November 29, 2021 or after 11:59 PM EST on November 30, 2021 by members registered within the 3X and 5X promotions are not eligible for the 5X Promotion …
Just to update, I did receive the 5x points 2 days after receiving the normal points, which happened 2 days after checking out.
Does this work on already-booked stays, or would we have to rebook to get this rate?
Needs to rebook, I think according to this: “Once registered for the 5X Promotion, a member will be able to earn 5X points on Qualifying Stays that are booked on November 29, 2021 or on November 30, 2021 by 11:59 PM EST for those nights of the stay occurring on or before December 31, 2021.”
I rebooked for may 3 nights at Holiday Inn and paid an extra $6 total for the rebooking compared to my previous booking at 3x max points. Worth it to me.
If it is for May it won’t count , both promos are only good till Dec 31, 2021
