Update 10/7/20: Properties are finally starting to be added to IHG, unfortunately so far less than 10 properties have been added and are bookable with IHG points but this will increase. Hat tip to Head for Points.
Original post: IHG has announced a new partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith, as part of this new partnership it will be possible to earn and redeem points at over 500 boutique hotels and resorts. Mr & Mrs Smith has a collection of over 1,200 properties in total, so it appears not all of these will be bookable – at least to begin with. Mr & Mrs Smith describes itself as a travel club for hotel lovers. How useful this new partnership is will of course depend on how expensive these new properties are in terms of points. IHG members won’t be able to book Mr & Mrs Smith properties until early 2020, so here’s hoping we get more information before then.
Well my free cert for IHG each year had found a new home, but going forward it will be worth more as a Hyatt Property!
IHG quietly have been upping their game and are as good as Marriott and Hilton if not better especially since they started offering dynamic points pricing.
Might be useful if Mr. and Mrs. Smith are a category 4 or lower. Gonna have to look this up, never heard of them.
