Our Verdict
Should stack with the following deals:
I’m new to IHG. What does 10,000 points get you?
If I have a stay of 4 nights, do I earn 20K points or do I have to stay at a different hotel after 2 nights? TIA
The terms say:
This “10,000 Points for Every 2 Nights” promotional offer (the “Promotion”) gives IHG One Rewards members the opportunity to earn 10,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points each time they complete two (2) qualifying room nights at participating hotels during the “Promotion Period” (defined below).
The phrase “each time they complete 2 qualifying room nights” implies that you should presumably get 20k points if have a stay of 4 nights, as long as you book today (the 28th) or tomorrow (the 29th).
I wonder if I have a stay that starts on or before Dec. 31st, but ends in January, if that would count?
The terms (https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/hotel-offers/cybersale#10kterms) say:
each of the two (2) qualifying room nights must be part of one or more “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays” and must fall within the Promotion Period. The “Promotion Period” is from November 28,2022, through December 31,2022. Room nights prior to registration or outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was booked or completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included.
If you parse that carefully, it’s only saying the nights, not the whole stay, have to fall within the Promotion Period. So if you have at least 2 qualifying room nights within the promotion period, I don’t see anything here that say the stay which includes one or both of those nights has to end within the promotion period.
Thank you!
Sounds like I’m good to go, then.
Does it work with rewards nights?
No.
The terms (https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/hotel-offers/cybersale#10kterms) say:
For purposes of the Promotion, an “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum 1-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with a room rate exceeding $30 USD (or local equivalent) for each night. Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Promotion.
Remember Amex offers spend $300 get $75 off Amex offer but only for Intercontinental Kimpton and indigo
Does anyone know if we can use the Ambassador complimentary second night rate for this promo?
Probably not, as second night is adjusted to $0.01 with the Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night and the terms say:
For purposes of the Promotion, an “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum 1-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with a room rate exceeding $30 USD (or local equivalent) for each night.
Hm, what’s your source for the second night being adjusted to $0.01 if using an Ambassador complimentary night for one of the two nights?
The Ambassador renewal/enrollment 20K qualification terms also require $30 USD (or local equivalent) spending per night, but they also say that the complimentary night may count towards the two nights needed to get the 20K points.
From the terms (https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/content/us/en/ambassador/terms-conditions):
To qualify for the 20,000 bonus points, each of the two nights must be part of one or more Qualifying Stays. A Qualifying Stay is defined as a minimum 1-night stay booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding $30 USD (or local equivalent) per night. Only one room per member per Qualifying Stay will be eligible. If more than one member checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to claim the night for purposes of the Offer. No retroactive credit will be awarded for stays prior to this Offer or prior to enrollment into the InterContinental® Ambassador programme. The “Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night” rate is a Qualifying Rate, and the complimentary night may be counted towards the two nights needed to qualify for the additional 20,000 bonus points.
Recently booked a few Ambassador Complimentary Weekend night at Kimpton’s and every time in the detailed breakdown on the invoice on reservation the second night was adjusted to $0.01 from the original price, usually takes them about a week to update the reservation rate, same experience using the complimentary night in the past.
I rebooked my reservation after registering for this offer, so I hope it works out too. If it is a qualified night it will get me 32000 bonus points [20000 ambassador renewal + 10000 this offer + 2000 ( Stay every 2 nights offer)]
Oh wow, that’s amazing. Hoping it works out for you 🙏🙏
Just to confirm, the Ambassador complimentary second night will count towards the 20K ambassador renewal offer, even though the second free night is adjusted to $0.01?
Yes the Ambassador complimentary night will work for the 20K renewal offer even with the adjusted $0.01, although some people had to call in to get the 20K points from what I read on other forums. But not sure if it will combine with other offers, hope it does.
No problem qualifying for this promo if using a corporate rate, right?
Shouldn’t be. Corporate Rates are generally only an issue for cashback.
