Our Verdict
It’s often possible to get a better than listed deal by calling in and asking, more on that here. Nobody goes into a timeshare presentation expecting to buy one, so make sure you’re good at saying no and have a plan with your partner to get out of there. If you’re not confident in doing that probably a good idea to give these offers a miss.
Hat tip to JDBAZ
tried 2 calls, no dice.
1st time asked for more time – no effort to retain.
2nd time mentioned friend was offered a deal – they said it must be targeted.
Was basically told this is the deal, take it or leave it.
How bad is the two-hour timeshare sales presentation? I have no intention of buying a timeshare…but of course would love a good deal… Can I just bring my ipad or play on my phone the entire 2 hours I’m there?
Ive never been to their presentations but ive been to others. The presentations are personal and 1 on 1. You pretty much have to listen to what they offer and just keep saying no lol
I remember that I attended such an event several years ago. In a phone talk with a rep. I just said I would think about it and then the rep. tried to convince me to give out my credit card number immediately for the deposit. Once you buy it, it cannot be canceled. Finally, the rep. gave me a good offer with a 100% cash refund after I completed the presentation (which meant free). Also, I got a $100 holiday inn certificate that could be used later. In the timeshare presentation, the sales were OK but I felt a little bit uncomfortable to pretend to be interested in something that I had decided not to buy.
Anyone have a timeshare?
I purchased a timeshare in 1984 in HHI for $6,000. One of my biggest regrets! Have paid WELL OVER 35K since then in fees. We have finally found a way out!! 🙂
There is also a limit of three of these for lifetime.
Must be employed with income over 50k. No retirees regardless of portfolio size?
Why? They check your w2 and pay stubs?
Good question. Do they do any credit check? Hate to have a hassle after I got there
No they don’t check anything. Generally speaking from other timeshare presentations. They will do credit check if you show interest in purchasing and give them permission to do credit check.
Thanks. Of course I have no intention of buying
25 and older😔 no free points for me
Not quite free . . .149+tax plus 2 hours of you life. (Still, I did it – for a few nights in Williamsburg)
Hey randy how bad was the presentation? Did you get to enjoy Williamsburg?
