Our Verdict

Seems like the $20 gift cards are ordinary gift cards with no expiration. We did see a better 20% discount just last week.

You can use up to 4 gift cards in an online order with IKEA. In store it’s probably unlimited or a much higher limit.)

Good deal for those already buying.

Dont get greedy thought and use it only if you have a purchase ready to buy. Ikea folks have run the numbers and they will come out ahead due to many folks not using or leaving balances on these.

Why not buy 9 in a single transaction?

This is a solid deal. People sometimes dump on IKEA products but they can offer great value.

Another way to save is to look at similar IKEA products that are listed in different categories – the pricing can be very different for essentially the same product or utility. For example, you don’t have to buy a TV stand from the TV stand category, any product with a stable, flat surface can be a TV stand. A product can serve multiple functions, especially in small living spaces.

Interesting – got the $20 bonus emails right away for a $200 purchase… in fact three bonus emails but two of them are to the same card. But still haven’t gotten the $200 main card. Anybody have similar issues? Hoping it will come later and won’t be a hassle to resolve…

One was probably just a duplicate, I got 10 emails and all 10 had unique links. The regular card will come later, it’s always delayed.

16.67% this time versus 20% last time. Still if you are in need to spend at Ikea, this is a good deal. They also have 25 off 200 mover that you can stack once per year per Ikea Family member. Coupon arrives 24 hours after registration:

I’m kind of annoyed to see that IKEA is now playing the gift card game. They increased their prices too much recently and that’s the reason they can give these discounts. They are losing their reputation IMO. You could go to IKEA before and be sure that the default price is probably good enough and you won’t get much lower. Now you need to find deals like this.

This one is slightly more annoying than the last because you have to keep track of so many gift cards. P.S. – Thanks, IKEA, for allowing my family to make our house look like everyone else’s!

It does look to be only 4 online according to the FAQ (have not tried), but you can buy 1 giftcard for $300 and get 3x$20 gift, instead of having to get 3×100 and 3×20 bonus.
