Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees, according to the fee schedule a reader sent us
Early Account Termination Fee
There is no early account termination fee.
Our Verdict
Previously the best offer we have seen has been $100 and another $50 for opening a savings account, so this bonus is significantly better. This bonus is definitely worth doing as it’s nice big bonus and the requirements aren’t too difficult to meet. Because of that we will add it to the best checking bonus page.

No bonus as of 9/18/24. Was hoping I would get on 9/15. Never had an issue from getting a bonus from a bank before. Should I message them?
If they are all real DDs, I don’t see why not.
Same timeline as you and posted on 9/19. Any luck?
Yep! Got my bonus on 9/19
Surprisingly approved OOS in branch in FL. Had to convince the banker to try putting the application through as she didn’t think someone could apply outside of Southwest FL.
No questions around Chex, in fact nothing on her screen mentioned my Chex count. (lol/24)
Did you go to the Bonita Springs or Naples branch? zeer0
Christopher Robin Naples
Approved OOS in branch. Banker wanted a local address at first because he didn’t think system would let him open, but tried anyways and it worked. No mention of Chex, 0/1, 3/2, 4/3, 8/6, 20/12.
Pickle Rick🔗 Which branch did you go for this?
The LaSalle Street branch. The main banker there is kind of quirky, but very friendly and helpful.
Thanks
So just to confirm the terms, if I open the account in August, the qualifying period is the following month aka September for each of the deposits required RE: Checking & Savings?
Yes, the qualifying period starts September if opened in August. Checking requires two months so September and October.
Wondering if I need 1 more DD…
5/23/24 – opened
6/7/24 $510 dd from payroll
6/21/24 $510 dd from payroll
7/5/24 $250 dd from payroll

No bonus as of 8/11/24. Seems like maybe they pay on the 15th?
Hi Amy W,
Has your bonus been deposited to your account yet and if so, when did it post? Thanks!

I am in Indiana so it was WinTrust /Old Plank Trail.
I’ve been ignoring this bank for years ever since I was denied in 2020 and 2021. However on a whim I decided to try again and was surprised that I was instantly approved. I’m not sure if they’re not as Chex sensitive anymore or if my Chex numbers have cooled enough, but my current stats are 0/1, 2/3, 11/6, and 31/12. I was able to do $2400 of CC funding ($1200 checking & $1200 savings) on my Citi Double Cash card even though the application says debit card only.
It’s interesting that you do not need to maintain the $15k savings account balance, only to have a $15k balance on the last business day of the month for three months following the account opening month. Definitely much better to transfer in $15k for a day or two and then withdraw and earn higher interest elsewhere the rest of the time.
mothman69 You didn’t get hit with a cash advance fee, right?
I did not get hit with a cash advance fee on my Citi DC. When I first got the credit card, I called Citi and had them set my cash advance limit to $0.
Are you doing this with the savings offer and moving the $15k in and out each month? Thinking about doing this.
Yes that is my plan. Doing it for P1 and P2.
Nice, I’m already on this offer and just having my $15K sit currently. However, given recent news with Fidelity and timing of clearance issues, I’m worried about moving them in and out. the moment.
