Surprisingly approved OOS in branch in FL. Had to convince the banker to try putting the application through as she didn’t think someone could apply outside of Southwest FL.

No questions around Chex, in fact nothing on her screen mentioned my Chex count. (lol/24)

Approved OOS in branch. Banker wanted a local address at first because he didn’t think system would let him open, but tried anyways and it worked. No mention of Chex, 0/1, 3/2, 4/3, 8/6, 20/12.

The LaSalle Street branch. The main banker there is kind of quirky, but very friendly and helpful.

So just to confirm the terms, if I open the account in August, the qualifying period is the following month aka September for each of the deposits required RE: Checking & Savings?

Yes, the qualifying period starts September if opened in August. Checking requires two months so September and October.

I’ve been ignoring this bank for years ever since I was denied in 2020 and 2021. However on a whim I decided to try again and was surprised that I was instantly approved. I’m not sure if they’re not as Chex sensitive anymore or if my Chex numbers have cooled enough, but my current stats are 0/1, 2/3, 11/6, and 31/12. I was able to do $2400 of CC funding ($1200 checking & $1200 savings) on my Citi Double Cash card even though the application says debit card only.

It’s interesting that you do not need to maintain the $15k savings account balance, only to have a $15k balance on the last business day of the month for three months following the account opening month. Definitely much better to transfer in $15k for a day or two and then withdraw and earn higher interest elsewhere the rest of the time.

mothman69 You didn’t get hit with a cash advance fee, right?

I did not get hit with a cash advance fee on my Citi DC. When I first got the credit card, I called Citi and had them set my cash advance limit to $0.

Are you doing this with the savings offer and moving the $15k in and out each month? Thinking about doing this.

Nice, I’m already on this offer and just having my $15K sit currently. However, given recent news with Fidelity and timing of clearance issues, I’m worried about moving them in and out. the moment.
