Our Verdict
They have had similar deals before for the Cubs checking account under their different brand names. Worth doing considering it’s a soft pull, but not the biggest deal out there. As always please share your datapoints below.

Got a flyer for Hanover Park Community Bank, a Wintrust sub, for $300 bonus for their Total Access checking with $100 deposit, e-statements, and two months of $500 DD. Like the Delaware branch one, it’s specific to this branch in Hanover Park, IL with code WFC00DMTA300. Expires 3/29
My bonus took a while, but posted nonetheless.
Opened 11/21

Signed up for the $300 offer at the Delaware Street branch in Chicago. I’m somewhat new to the bank bonus game. When a bank says I need to direct deposit $500 in the two consecutive calendar months following the calendar month of account opening, does this mean if I opened the account on December 21st, then I need to have $500 in DD between January 22nd & February 22nd, and $500 DD between February 22nd & March 22nd?
They pull Chex, denied to them lol/12
so if i opened online, should i send a secure message saying ‘im aware of the $100 promotion’ to make sure they mark my account eligible? or am i automtatically enrolled into the bonus promo even if i opened online and not in branch?
FYI the new Wintrust branch on Delaware just east of Michigan Ave currently has a grand opening promotion only available at the Delaware Place Branch:
1. $300 bonus when opening a new checking account w/ at least $100 new-to-Wintrust money, e-stamens and $500 DD required
2. 19 months CD 3% APY
3. 26 months CS 3.25 APY
Received a mailer but it’s not targeted.
What does it say in the fine print for bonus time requirement? 12 months since opening or closing previous account? I closed an account on 2/16/18, curious, thanks
Is this in-branch offers only or online applications are eligible for the bonuses as well?
Just opened a wintrust account (in branch). No HP on any of 3 credit monitoring services so I assume SP. There was a plastic sign on the banker’s desk saying “We use Chexsystems for all new accounts”
Also here is a tip: if you go to Delaware St branch (in the middle of downtown Chicago) they have a $300 checking offer (requires a direct deposit of $500 and nothing else), an offer for 2.5% APY money market guaranteed for one year (no balance limit) and some over 3% CDs. This is Delaware st branch only but available to anyone who opens accounts there (there are signs everywhere once you walk in – not targeted in any way). It’s part of an intro offer as I believe thry just took over that location from a different bank. I do not know if they open accounts for people out of state but yet this should be of interest to people living in Chicago
Cheers!
awesome im in chicago area and might do the $300! whats the initial
minimum funding requirement in branch? i dont carry checks so i figure ill need to have cash on me
I believe like $100 for the checking.
Minimum $2500 for the money market with the 2.5% APY. I did this one too because it seemed like the best option currently available to me once I maxed out the rewards checking accounts that I can do.
Are they Chex sensitive? Do you have a lot of accounts opened in last year?
Unfortunately cannot provide any input there. In the past year i’ve only opened 2 checking accounts, so even if they were chex sensitive probably i would have still cleared the bar
What does it say in the fine print for bonus time requirement? 12 months since opening or closing previous account? I closed an account on 2/16/18, curious, thanks
Goddamn it – are these guys Chex sensitive? It said it couldn’t process my app at the end
Do they honor the bonus for out of state customers who visit their branch? It’s a shame in a way because I was just out in Chicago and passed a couple of WinTrust branches. I have some other accounts though.
