Instacart is removing fees when you opt to pickup instead of getting your items delivered. It says that this excludes select retailers, but I don’t currently see it applying for most retailers. This useful for taking advantage of the Chase credits.

I’m seeing Bashas as free pickup as long as the minimum order is over $10 but other places like Fry’s are still requiring a minimum of $35 to get the free pick up
Be aware that with some grocery stores, use of Instacart prelude one from earn grocery store rewards.
Got the email, clicked through for two options – New Seasons Market and Rite Aid. FYI.
Lot of offers & discounts recently. They seem to have come into new VC funding to burn 😆
Instacart is publicly traded now
I think they may be doing away with pick up fee for non-instacart+ members over orders of $35+, which was already free for instacart+ members

yeah i feel like i heard that before
SoCal folks, anyone seeing Free Pickup at any stores so far?
Sprouts
Haven’t seen it at Sprouts in LA. It’s still free pickup on orders $35+
Thanks, can confirm sprouts had free pickup. Placed an order.
Instacart is becoming better and greater! It’s unstoppable
I always wait for a coupon like “$20 off $50” to use my Chase Instacart credit, and then try to order like one $50 item so the driver can’t mess it up.
It helps if you know the item is definitely going to be in-stock. If not that, what I like to do is order a bunch of items I know will be in stock and a few which likely will not be, so that “$20 off $50” becomes more like “$20 off $35-40”. Better for me at stores where I didn’t want or need to spend $50 to begin with.
If drivers do screw up (admittedly pretty rare around here) IC is usually pretty good about partial refunds so it’s not a big deal for me.
Got the same email. Checked my local pickups, fee still there.
Fine print says “select” merchants and $35 minimum. Not sure what’s up with this.
My local sprouts has always been fee waived over $35 pickup
My Sprouts had a fee, but now I’m seeing none.
