Alliant offers the Cashback Visa Signature Credit Card, this card earns 3% cash back on all purchases in the first year. Previously we’d confirmed with Alliant that customers that upgrade or product change an existing card will also earn at this 3% rate in their first year. Doctor of Credit’s own sirtheta left a comment stating his first statement closed and only earn 2.5%.
I reached out to Alliant and received the following response:
We’re aware of the issue, which appears only to be affecting members who upgraded to the Visa Signature card, and we’re working with our vendor to correct it. The affected members will be made whole as soon as possible, either on or before the next statement cycle.
Great news from Alliant.
Update: Alliant e-mailed earlier today saying that they fixed the issue. When I visited the rewards website the missing cashback (for 2 months) was credited correctly.
Awesome, glad to hear it.
Just received my second statement since the upgrade and the rewards are based on 2.5% again. Wasn’t credited for missing rewards from the first cycle either.
Did anyone fund new bank accounts using this credit card, if so:
1. Did the transaction post as a purchase?
2. Did you earn the 3% Cash Back for this transaction?
Loving the 3% CB but have had my card locked 3 times now due to the amount of spending. I’m freaking out their algorithm I guess.
Their Platinum Rewards card also earns 2% now (up from 1%).
Yup, got a post on this tomorrow.
Also the rewards point from previous card will not transfer to 3% cash back card. I lost points in rewards platinum card.
Did this happen to everybody?
Rep mentioned it in a list of what would happen when changing cards.
So redeem any remaining points before doing so.
Love Alliant. Fast ACH transfers, great customer service, competitive APR on savings.
Upgrading my Alliant platinum rewards card to the new cashback card is on my to-do list, was waiting on positive data points. I’m pleased to see them handling this issue so well.
