It’s Now Possible To Apply For The City National Bank Visa Infinite Card Online (No Longer Working)

Looks like the online application has been removed for now.

City National Bank offers the Visa Infinite card, previously you had to go into a branch to apply for this card but it’s now possible to apply online. It looks like online applications require manual approval, but at least it’s no longer necessary to go into a branch. To apply online you can use one of the following methods:

  • Use this link (try incognito if the application errors out)
  • Navigate from the home page to credit cards then click
  • Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card

Until July 31st, 2019 the sign up bonus is 50,000 points after $5,000 in spend and the points are worth up to 1.3¢ each. The real value is the $250 airline credit and that’s because authorized users also get that and you can have up to 3/4 of those authorized users. It’s not clear with online applications if this will be available to people in states with no physical branch or not.

I was one of the few that was able to apply and get approved… they only get me a 30k point bonus. Does anyone have a screenshot of the offer that said 50k… Its ridiculous that they changed my bonus on me.

I don’t but that sucks. Install nimbus for chrome going forward and always screenshot. I do but I’ve forgotten and been burned in the past.

Does anyone have a checking account from CNB? How is your experience? How fast are ACH transfers in and out of the account? Thanks.

Finally after providing pay stubs, last year tax return & 1 month long discussion over the emails, I got my CNB card today. Absolutely worth the efforts !

CNB just canned the bonus today. No more sign up bonus going forward.

Are you sure it is forever? Or is it just for some period of time? Is this insider information?

A banker told me that this was the case by an internal memo that was sent. Of course, nothing is forever, not even diamonds. But my take on this is that CNB feels that the card is sufficiently strong enough by itself and there isn’t a need to supplement it with a signup bonus because it has enough demand without one. You can tell this is the case by the constantly declining bonus on this card. They may change their mind if demand suddenly drops, although I don’t think it would be the case since many bankers (including folks here) would tell you that the perks are well worth the AF on this card.

I know they are, but we are used to bonuses. It is just a nice icing on the cake. If they bring back bonus I will get it. Otherwise I will stick to my Sapphire Reserve. I know card is a worth the annual fee, just have to have my bonus to get it. It will bother me if I get it without it. Once I get it I plan to keep it for a long time. Also, they will see that people who get it without a bonus mostly just want to hit them up for “incidentals” and not the regular users of this card.

I applied while the window was open under the 50k/$5k offer on July 29. Received e-mail asking me to confirm my title and company I worked for. Cards showed up today via FedEx. Didn’t have to do any of the whacky stuff people have posted about with bank statements, W2s, or tax returns.

Did you confirm you qualified for the bonus since that ended 7/31? I believe it is date of account opening rather than application date

I applied on 07/26 and got a similar email to confirm title/company on 07/31. Just received my cards today. Did you confirm you get 50K sign-up bonus? I doubt mine is just 30K.

Anyone knows which branch is more lenient? I can provide W2 but don’t really want to give them more than that

All the underwriting is done centrally in Los Angeles, using manual paperwork and a very manual process. The only difference between branches would be if the local banker is a better negotiator with that group in LA.

Your main issue would be finding a banker who would want to even take your application. There are some that might, but ultimately they want to get paid, so applicants need to fit a profile of someone who might make deposits, take loans, pay fees, use advisory / trust services etc.

The credit lines they issue are crazy high if approved.

If someone really wanted the card, they could open up checking accounts, and put something in there and then hit up a branch after those got seasoned a little.

Is there an additional annual fee per authorized user like with Altitude Reserve?

No fee

USB AR’s can be put on multiple Gpay or ApplePay or SamsungPay devices, so unless you actually physically need a card for some reason, you can get many of the benefits of a second card, without having to pay the fee. To me, a major use case of the card is paying by mobile device, so hardly ever use the physical card.

I got my app in before it closed but I’m also quite certain I’ll not be approved 🙁
