JetBlue Extends Seat Distancing Policy Through October 15th

Update 8/5/20: Extended through Oct. 15

Original post: JetBlue has announced that it is extending it’s seat distancing policy until September 9th (previously was due to end July 31st). JetBlue’s policy is that middle seats are blocked on flights with a 3-3 configuration and aisle seats are blocked on flights with a 2-2 configuration. Passengers that are traveling together are able to sit in the blocked seats. Southwest & Delta had previously announced that they would be blocking middle seats through at least September 30th, 2020.

I’m sure they’ll abandon this policy if and when they were overwhelmed with bookings again.

Good for JetBlue. It’s good for us to support airlines that care for their customers.

Yes, spend your shekels now!

Let’s be real, there’s STILL too little room between passengers to really reduce transmission, middle seat or not.

This is just sanitation theater, designed to make you FEEL like things are nice and clean and safe when they really aren’t.

Every little bit helps. It may not be safe in an absolute sense, but it is safer than having a person right next to you.

@Chucks
Better than nothing. At least JetBlue is doing something, unlike some other airlines. Once in while, it doesn’t hurt to applaud corporate responsibility, even though the airline industry, as a whole, is a cancer.

Every little bit helps, and the extra arm room is nice.

Most leg room in economy even without the middle empty
