Our Verdict

Previous best offer has been $30, Topcashback offered to increase this to $35 and here we are. The reason the bonus is higher than normal is that we don’t receive anything if you sign up for this offer, instead we’ve passed the full $35 to our readers. We always try to do these types of deals with companies, but very few show any interest. One of the reasons I love Topcashback is they have the same mindset as we do, they give users 100% of a store’s commission back as cash back. They make money through separate advertising banners  ‘our list stores’ among other ways. I find that Topcashback rates are consistently better than other shopping portals and it’s the portal I use the most often.

If you want to see more brands & websites offer our readers increased bonuses like this then there are two things you can do:

  • Sign up if you don’t have have an account
  • Share this with others

You can view our full review of Topcashback by clicking here. I know some readers have had issues in the past, keep in mind money earned from Topcashback doesn’t become payable until they receive the money from the merchant so the wait times can be longer than other sites. I think the increased cashback rates are worth the wait times, but YMMV. As always make sure you follow our tips to ensure portals track correctly. If you have any unresolved issues with TCB then send an e-mail to [email protected].

Does targeted bonus offers like spend $25 get $5/10 count toward meeting the $10 threshold needed for the sign up bonus to become payable ?

I signed up. Thanks Will! Pretty generous offer compared to the other sites, especially when y’all kick back your cut to us as well. I have become partial to SB only because I used it first but it’s mostly being lazy not wanting to learn other portal sites. With the “no cut-off period by which you must earn the $10 payable cash back to ‘release’ your $35 sign up credit” and Christmas coming up, this offer is a no-brainer and too good to keep being lazy IMO. Still trying to figure out what I will go after. Saw 10% off happy gift cards which is pretty good!

Kyle ❤️ TCB always paid out for me & other housemates; if looking for another CB portal, i’d say to avoid Befrugal; those scammers there chose not only took away my valid referral bonus $ but also closed my acct w/o providing any reason(s); they also did steal all the earned cb to a friend whom I referred

This exact scenario happened to me with TCB

What am I missing? Neither the referred person nor me see anything about $35 anywhere. All I can find anywhere is that the referrer gets $10. If they are offering the person referred to sign up or use the site once signed up a bonus, wouldn’t they mention that somewhere? Or, is this a surprise nonpromotion, where they aren’t promoting that they are giving out a bonus for using their site, then just hand it to them? It seems the same as if someone told me that if I bought anything at a particular store or site I would get a check in the mail in a couple of monthes, even though there is no indication of that anywhere in the store or on the site.

I came back to say that I figured it out. Apparently, I stayed signed into TopCashBack from when I last used it. So, when I clicked the link to the offer, instead it went to my account, with a refer a friend option on that page,
Thanks for replying.

William Charles is it the signup bonus and the money made through topcashback taxable by the IRS??

Main problem with them, and I have used them on and off for many years, is that they take forever to post your money, often don’t post it at all, and are pretty difficult about actually get you paid. Just really is not worth it compared to somewhere else like ebates (Rakuten now). For example, they recently tracked a purchase I did at Staples and posted it as 0 CB, and when I inquired, they took 2 weeks and then sent me a message that said Staples was not going to pay it. That was it..no real details or explanation, just sorry you are not getting it. It was completely within the rules and I did not do anything that would DQ the CB, but for like 6 bucks it was not worth it to keep fighting. Honestly, I have decided to avoid them completely now. By comparison, the last 3 times I used Ebates and it did not track properly, within 1 day of emailing, the money was already in my account, plus I do not have to worry about whether it will ever go from pending to payable like TCB. At least ebates pays you on the upcoming given date once the money is in your balance, unlike TCB which will show it pending for 8. 10, 12, 16 or more weeks if it posts at all.

Hi there,

I can confirm this isn’t the case. TopCashback will always advise you the reason why a retailer declines to pass over cashback. This is usually due to their terms and conditions being broken. Please fully check the retailer’s terms on the TopCashback website (you can view the terms beneath the cashback offers). Staples for instance does have a number of exclusions, so it’s likely you’ve purchased an ineligible item in this case. But please check your claim for our response and you’ll see why this was declined.

Thanks,
Patrick

Not true! TopCashBack will tell you that you have clicked through ‘another channel’ and when you ask which one, they’ll say “We don’t know. Just some other one.” What can you do after a reply like that?
This Patrick has started to post on blogs recently to try to counter all of the bad news about TopCashBack.
I cannot recommend enough that people avoid TopCashBack — it’s obvious when they hire someone to post empty promises and weak rebuttals in the face of the TRUTH.
Hey Patrick! Where is Rakuten’s ‘Rep’ on this board? Where is MrRebate’s ‘Rep’ on this board? Where is BeFrugal’s ‘Rep’ on this board?
They aren’t here because they don’t need to be here.
THAT says it all.

Zaniac this is a post about TCB, not other CB co; not associated with TCB in any way other than simply a customer who have received all separate cb of +$100 so far in 3 yrs. Heck, as u mentioned befrugal on here, I wish DOC & other bloggers had a post about them so I could warn folks about their biz scam; those cheaters there decided not to pay referral bonuses & closed acct WITHOUT giving any reason; contacted or escalated them on social media asking for a reason why the cb wasn’t paid & why acct was closed… no reply, nothing; instead those clowns blocked my chat / msg on there…

guess that folks have issue with one but not another

Can basically get $50 worth of free stuff at eBags. $35 bonus + 23% of $50 (required spend to get free shipping) = ~$46.50. Nice for stocking stuffers like packing cubes or other travel accessories.

I wasn’t able to claim the last sign up bonus due to nuances in the kind of cash back I earned (was greater than $10 using retailers on the site and deals through the site). Company was very persistent in coming up with reasons not to pay out. Submitted a claim and everything. Don’t recommend!

Hey Arnold,

TopCashback wouldn’t come up with reasons to decline a bonus without a valid reason. This should be explained in our team’s response to your query, but if you’d like to get in touch with me via [email protected] I’d be happy to check and clarify this for you.

Thanks,
Patrick

Absolutely untrue!
They WILL come up with an ambiguous reason to deny cashback claims and don’t let this message from whoever Patrick is fool you. They use the excuse ‘Other channel’ regardless of how careful you might be when clicking through and when you press for more info, they give none.

ANYONE will do better sticking to the more professional cashback portals, even if they might be one or two percent less, because you will get the cashback without the headache and having to email again and again.

TopCashBack is JUST NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.

So your beef is that they didn’t count special incentives toward the $10 minimum? C’mon now.

I mean, the terms say they don’t count. For Referral/Tell a Friend:

“Cashbacks which are awarded as goodwill, incentives or contest cashbacks will not be counted towards reaching eligible threshold for both Tell-a-Friend sign up bonuses and Referral bonuses.”

They agreed to that when signing up, so they shouldn’t be complaining about it like it’s some sort of bait and switch.
