June Wrap Up: Best Posts Of The Month, $325 Donated To Charity & $25 Winner Announced

Another month has come and gone which means it’s time to do a round up.

Blog Stats:

We had 405 e-mail subscribers at the start of June and 837 by the end.
Blog traffic increased by 37%

Most of this month’s increases came from a few links from the bigger blogs in this space (thank-you View From The Wing & Frequent Miler). Unfortunately this massive increase in stats didn’t correlate with a similar increase in revenue.

Personal Stats:

This was a pretty slow month for me personally, the majority of my time was devoted to manufactured spending which I don’t include in my personal totals for various reasons. That being said, I was still able to add $121.979 in various free money opportunities. This is much lower than previous months due to the fact I haven’t signed up for any bank account bonuses or credit card offers. Charity Contribution

We’ve made a pledge to give a bare minimum of 10% of this blog’s income to charity every month, in practice we’ve been donating a lot more than that each month. This month we decided to let our new contributor Arielle decide which charity to give to. In the end she decided on Heifer International. Here’s her reasoning for choosing Heifer:

Heifer is one of my favorite charities because they really make sure the donations impact every aspect of the communities life. The gifts are meant to bring sustainable and renewable income, that benefits nutrition, education, and community.

$25 Newsletter Give Away

We also choose one of our newsletter subscribers every month to receive $25 via PayPal (or in Amazon gift cards) as a way of saying thank you for staying subscribed. At the end of this month we had 837 subscribers, so we used random.org to choose a number between 1 & 837. The result was 189, which means ***[email protected] was the winner. I’ve contacted them directly to let them know, if they don’t claim their prize within the month it’ll jackpot to the following month.
