Korean Air has announced that it’s partnership with Marriott has been terminated. Not a huge loss due to the poor transfer rate.

OK,I understand the limited usage of this but without notice??? This is the worst program ever, they are always looking for more ways to screw their members.
KLM & Air France are a better choice to use Marriott points. Soon we may be able to even transfer to SAS Scandinavian
The legacy of SPG is the website spg dot com. I can’t spell Marriott properly.
Just gotta use (2) R and (2) T. That’s the only way i can remember.
What’s the SPG logo doing?
I dispute wholeheartedly that this is not a huge loss. It is.
It’s not a huge loss, it’s a Hugo Boss
Definitely a bad news for me. Have to fly Korean Air twice per year. Cash price is high for the route I’m taking. I’m getting >$0.024 per KA mile, which makes my Marriott points worth more than 0.8 cents with 1:3 transfer rate.
How come I missed the notice from KA?
It’s KE, KA is the former airline code for Cathay Dragon / Dragonair
That SPG logo gives some nostalgic chills.
Most flyers in the US have long stopped caring about SkyPass since it ended its partnership with Chase. Marriott points are much more difficult to generate (the few Marriott-cobranded credit cards don’t generate the kind of return that US cardholders are accustomed to these days). There’s currently a workaround if you still need to top up your SkyPass account, you can transfer your Marriott points to OZ, betting that KE’s merger with OZ will get its final approval in the US soon (highly likely).
Final approval is highly likely soon? Not so fast
Korean Air mileage is very valuable if you need to fly to Asia.
Thanks Doc for reminding us of the glory days by using that SPG thumbnail. Sigh!
