Deal has expired, view more Kroger deals here.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

Check your Kroger coupons for the following offer:

  • Save a digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on Visa and Mastercard $100, $50, or $25 fixed-value gift cards. Valid until  09/03/2018
  • Save a digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on third party gift cards. Valid until 09/03/2018.

The Fine Print

  • Points earned in August will be valid through September. Better to purchase in September to make them valid through October.
  • Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points, though these details do vary by store and region.
  • Fuel Gift Cards not included.
  • Excludes variable-load Visa and Mastercard gift cards.

Our Verdict

Make sure to use a credit card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases. Usually these 4x fuel offers are only valid for one weekend, so interesting to see them available for a two week period.

Looks like this deal is now good through Sept. 29, from what I can see.

Kroger 4x is back yet again, now (Sept. 13th) through September 29th.

And no, this is not unusual — becoming more and more regular, two weeks at a time, then off a week or so, then on for a weekend, then off a week or so, then on for two weeks.

ps, Simple, hard truth…. I’m sensing Kroger is in serious trouble…. (which explains in part why these 4x fuel promotions are ON more than they’re off) Aldi & Lydl have been relentlessly beating Kroger on price (and quality) from one direction; deep pocketed Walmart from another, and then Whole Foods/Amazon from yet another.

IMHO (having shopped at Kroger for nearly 3 decades), they’ve currently taken the really dumb approach of emphasizing their “simple truth” line-up…. some MBA’s idea of competing with WholeFoods, to try to find a way to justify higher prices for essentially the same product…. Disaster looming. Every experienced Kroger shopper knows that simple truth simply means, simply a lot more. (cost)

When I read your post this morning, I thought, “Kroger has been posting great results, standing on its own against Whole Foods, Aldi, etc.” But then the stock market opened 15 minutes later…. you might just be on to something.

Long time lurker: thanks to DoctorofCredit for all the sweet advice. Took advantage of this one: DOES NOT apply to Kroger Brand Food Store GC (ours here in AZ is Fry’s). And in order to get it, must load digital coupon to loyalty card OR get the hardcopy coupon from the checker/customer service. A note on “worth the effort”: taking a GC from the shelf, checking out and holding a GC is worth saving $1.50/gal (given my situation is around $27.00).

afaik, gift cards sold via Kroger on-line are handled/processed by giftcard mall….. (and as such, they won’t count towards credit card grocery spend categories) I am able to do business with GiftcardMall and of course Kroger direct, but for inexplicable unknown reasons, I haven’t been able to complete a transaction via Kroger gift cards in several years…. (likely part of the well known GCM back office chaos)

Yet curious if gc’s purchased via Kroger on-line are really earning Kroger 4 x fuel points…. ??

CMIIW but if the max discount is $1 per gallon and she’ll is usually 20-30 cents more expensive than other stations, why are these worth the hassle? Unless that $1 limit isn’t enforced?

It helps if you have a Kroger-affiliated gas station too

I sometimes do FuelRewards from stop and shop where it’s 1.50 limit and I have a 5 gallon red can to get the max 20 gallons. But even then I wonder if it’s worth the effort.

I love it when these come at the end of the month. I do my regular weekly shopping, check my total points on the receipt, then buy a variable 3rd party card with just enough to put me over the next 100 point mark.

indeed. Happens I’ve had some fun this year buying Amazon gc’s when on 4x promotion, via lots of Kroger affiliates around the country. Last week it was “Smith’s” in Kalispell, Montana. Last December, it was King Sooper in downtown Denver. And I’ve learned Kroger’s latest (odd) acquisition — Harris-Teeter (heavy in Carolina) also participates in the 4x fuel points.

Have been wondering if accumulated Kroger points work at Kroger owned Turkey Hill convenience stores & their pumps (a chain across PA)….. (though I gather Turkey Hill ice-cream products maybe be separate from Turkey Hill MInute Marts….)

I tried using my Ralphs fuel points from Southern California at a Kroger in Georgia. Their system only allowed a discount of 10c/gal (using 100 pts) despite over 1000 fuel pts in my balance. A nearby SHELL showed the same, though SHELL here in LA now allows up to $1/gal.
