Terms and conditions apply and other fees may apply to Gift Cards. See gift card package for details. The Visa® and Mastercard® Gift Cards are issued by U.S. Bank National Association, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. or Mastercard International Incorporated. Mastercard is a registered trademark, and the circles design is a trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated. Product and offer may not be available in all states.

Our Verdict

The drop down seems to imply the coupon will only work on $25, $50, or $100 Visa or Mastercard gift cards, though others are reporting that in practice this works on variable-load cards as well (update: and some are seeing variable load in the drop down as well, so it should work on those too, and this is now confirmed). Let us know.

I got this to work on a variable VGC. I also have a mailer coupon for $5 off 1 Visa Gamer or Birthday variable Load GC. Do the Visa Gamer and Birthday cards function the same as the USBank N.A. issued VGCs at Kroger?

The Kroger app showed variable load in the drop down menu but the website showed fixed values only.

for MS spend purposes, should i also purchase a food item in conjunction with this better avoid MS detection. This is for CS Amex Plat.

I buy a lot of GCs at Kroger using my BCP, but I also buy a lot of Groceries. Never had a RAT problem.

On the BCP, their terms don’t exclude gift cards from being eligible for rewards. My guess is the $6000/yr limit for 6% on groceries prevents the “abuse” of buying too many gift cards.

For those considering fuel points a 4X points offer may be available, YMMV. You’ll need to calculate whether the points benefit you more in August or if you’d rather they post in September (by purchasing the gift card on 9/1).

They offer a “courtesy” transfer to the next month of expiring fuel points, 3 times a year is what the CSR told me back in May. Not sure if that was always their policy, or if it’s just for this year.

It’s a relatively new policy which is *generally* done by calling them on the last day of the month, However, I called yesterday and successfully moved July points to this month’s total (though I did *lose* 63 points since they apparently transfer only in increments of 100). Everyone (in general) received a courtesy rollover in May which will not count towards the allowance of 3 per year per account.

I can clip the coupon but under Qualifying Products I get:
“Sorry, there are currently no items to display.”

So I’ve been having issues with digital coupons since the beginning of August where a lot of the Coupons I clip (per example: Best Customer Bonus “Free Kettle Potato Chips”) are not being applied when I check out. I called Kroger Customer Service and came to find out that now even when you clip them you have to click on Shop all items to see if they are qualifying items?!?……WTF….that makes no sense. See below.

BEST-CUSTOMER BONUS

FREE Kettle Potato Chips
ONE (1) Kettle® Potato Chips, 8.5 oz., any variety

Enjoy these special offers, for our Best Customers only!

Limit of one coupon per household. Digital Coupons and paper coupons may not be combined on the purchase of a single item. Specially marked items, such as Clearance or Manager’s Specials may not be eligible for Digital Coupons.

I’m experiencing the same issues at Fry’s in Phoenix.

I had this issue with 3 items on Monday. Customer service at (800) 576-4377 can “see” your purchases and issue a store credit directly to your club card if they verify coupons applicable to the purchase did not process properly. You *may* need to get a supervisor, some call center reps are better at this than others.

Anyone know if this works at all Kroger stores including those under different names, such as Pick n Save?

Never mind, it will. I see it in my clipped coupons when I sign into my Pick n Save account.

For me, drop down did not show variable load. Will post whether or not credit is given on variable load anyway.
