Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Priority Checking account has a $21 monthly fee, this is waived if you do one of the following:
- a minimum daily collected balance of $10,000 or more;
- $25,000 in combined deposits (excluding CDs and IRAs) or consumer loans (excluding mortgages) or credit card balances;
- $250,000 or more in a Trust account or account (excluding annuities) with Hancock Whitney Investment Services.
Early Account Termination Fee
$20 fee is charged for each account if the account is closed within 180 days. Looks like you might also forfeit the bonus.
Our Verdict
There was a previous $500 deal. That required the same account, normally the $300 bonuses only require the silver checking account that is easier to keep fee free. Because of that I wouldn’t recommend doing this bonus, either wait for the bigger bonus to return or wait for a $300 bonus that is easier to keep fee free.

Terrible customer service, no way to secure message, they have CsR who can’t do things and promise things then don’t do it.
Found my account was not closed when a rep said a month ago they were closing it.
Opened in dec 2020. Threw serve, discover and WF. Bonus posted 3/2021.
I opened my account at the end of September 2020 using the promo page active then for the $300 bonus. I had 2 real DDs post in October but stupidly, in hindsight, stopped them from continuing through November.
I have not had my bonus post yet, so I finally called them. They had me on hold looking into it for 20 minutes and came back with “You did not meet the terms because your direct deposits were only for one month.” The rep suggested I may have luck going in branch and asking a banker to credit me the $300 as a courtesy. I have left $10k sitting there for almost 6 months.
Has anyone had any luck either getting a courtesy credit or going the CFPB route? I’d like to avoid CFPB since it seems like this bank reliably pays you annually if you churn it right and that might get my SSN blocked for future applications. I don’t even know if I’d technically have a case. I did do recurring DDs, they just happened to be in the same month.
“Thank you for your interest. We are unable to process your application online. Please visit one of our convenient financial center locations to apply. Thank you.”
I live in TX and there is a branch 25 miles away.
This $300 deal is back, just change “20” to “21” in link https://www.hancockwhitney.com/mychecking300pc-21
Also $100 deal https://www.hancockwhitney.com/mychecking100ac-21
can only do one – higher one has minbal and/or fees.
Thanks, posted
William Charles The title still says expired.
Fixed, ty
Just FYI: Closed my account several days ago by calling CS. The CS rep specifically calculated how many days the account has been open. Thus, do not close unless it is 180 days.
William Charles Extended to 12/31/2020
Update 7/18/20: Terms say this ended on 6/30, but if you e-mail yourself a promo code it says valid thru 9/31/20.
30 days in September, right?
