Last Chance to Change your Airline on Amex Platinum & PRG

Today is the last day to change your chosen airline on the Amex Platinum personal and business cards, as well as the Premier Rewards Gold card.

Platinum cards come with a $200 airline incidental allowance and PRG gets $100. You need to choose one airline. The chosen airline will also be the airline that earns a 50% points rebate with the Platinum business card.

Once January passes, the airline selection defaults to the one you used the prior year, so today is the last day you can change it from last year’s selection. (If you are a new cardholder within the past few weeks, this doesn’t affect you.)

It’s especially important to take note of your selection since many people always defaulted to United which was easy to cash out via MPX. Since that no longer works, choose the airline you’ll most likely be able to use the credit with. Check out Payments Workshop for a consolidated list on what works and what doesn’t.

Just to confirm, only local airlines are allowed, right?

Chase reserves gives 50% points back on International airlines as well, like Emirates.
