Chase has just introduced two new IHG credit cards: Traveler & Premier. As of now the ‘old’ Chase IHG Rewards Club Select credit card is still available for sign up, there are two options:
- 80,000 points + $50 (this is a targeted offer, make sure your logged into your IHG account and then do a dummy booking. You should be able to see if you’re targeted by clicking apply on this link.
Keep in mind you need to do the dummy booking to get the extra $50. Dummy booking no longer works) - 60,000 points + $50 (this is a public offer. If you go for this offer make sure you get matched to the above offer ASAP. More on that here) Looks like matches are now being denied.
I suspect this card won’t be available for much longer (mostly likely after today it won’t be available), so if you haven’t received the sign up bonus within the past 24 months I’d recommend signing up now. Keep in mind by applying now you should also receive an unrestricted free night certificate on card anniversary for the first year. It’s also worth pointing out that neither of the new cards mention being ineligible for the sign up bonus if you have or have had the Select card. The select card is also not subject to the Chase 5/24 rule.

I just was approved for the Card (without the $50 Statement Credit offer) and just sent a SM to Chase asking for a match. Hopefully they’ll approve it.
Any recent data points showing that Chase would match this offer?
I have the IHG Select card with a free night certificate. I applied for both the Premier and Traveler and was approved for both. Met the spend on both. My IHG account shows that I have received the bonus for the Premier and the bonus for the authorized user on the Premier but nothing yet for the Traveler. I’ll keep everyone posted.
Would the old IHG select card grand-fathered to have a free night every year? Ever more restricted free night is good. Would they take away the free night after we pay the annual fee?

Reminder. Holiday Inn Express includes breakfast. Holiday Inn does not.

You get the free night cert on the anniversary of your card. You will get an e-mail about it probably in March 2019.

I applied the 60k offer and get under review. called 1-800-432-3117, and the rep. said 30 days in mail, no way to speed up. Is there any other number I can call to get instant review on the phone? thanks

Me too! Tried to call verification but they told me to wait at least 10 days.
If you’ve already applied, there’s hardly a reason for a hurry. I don’t think Chase would deny you merely if they disallow new IHG applications, as everyone will be grandfathered. Source: I applied for the 40k + 200$ + noAF Marriott last year, and it still got approved even after the offer itself disappeared.

Because I saw the account opened by 4/5 can get the no restriction free nigh certificate. So that’s why I call, normally, they do instant review on the phone, but this time no.
