Lyft ‘All Access Plan’ Now Live & Nationwide – $299 Month For 30 Rides Worth Up To $15 Each

Lyft’s All Access Plan has now exited Beta and is available nationwide. Users can pay $299 per month and they will receive 30 rides that can cost up to $15 per ride. If a ride costs more than $15 then $15 is just deducted from that ride and users pay the remaining owing. These rides can be used towards Lyft and Lyft Pool. If you take 30 rides of $15+ each then you get $450 in value and save $150.

The problem for most people is two fold: taking all 30 rides and making sure those rides are $15 each. If you take 30 rides they would need to average $10 each ride for you to break even. Personally I don’t think the program is good enough value for most people, but it could make sense for a select few. Uber also has a similar program called ‘Uber Ride Pass‘ but that is targeted.

My big issue is that nearly every ride I take is over $15, so I would constantly be paying the overage on this. Wish they had upped the value of the ride and decreased the number of rides.

Looks like this is aimed to someone who lives in a walkable area who wants to otherwise get rid of a car or cannot own one

I suppose the thinking is that you can go this route instead of a lease or purchase. No insurance, gas, etc. could make a lot of sense. Rather than $15 rude credit, how about a flat $450 value for $299 a month with no carryover month to month? That would make it more useful as a car replacement allowing longer trips.

Can you buy this using Lyft credits or Lyft gift cards? When I was trying to purchase in the app, it was showing my credit card as payment method. So I didn’t proceed.

You’re kind of gambling here unless you’re really confident of your ride behavior. It’s a $300 gamble to save at most $150. Could work for you.

Yeah. It seems best suited for a couple that lives in a downtown or walkable area and one person only uses their car to get to and from work daily, which would be a $10-$15 ride.

Drop one car payment / depreciation, car insurance, gas and maintenence.
