Lyft To Launch Loyalty Program ‘Lyft Rewards’

Lyft has announced they will be launching a loyalty program called ‘Lyft Rewards‘. This program will launch in the coming weeks, but details are currently sparse. Here’s what we know so far:

  • You’ll earn points for every dollar spent (e.g it will be a dynamic earning program, rather than earning a fixed number of points per ride/distance traveled)
  • Points can be redeemed for future rides or Lyft Lux upgrades
  • Program will launch in December 2018 with some select rides in cities getting access. Doesn’t look like the program will be publicly available until sometime in 2019

We don’t have any information regarding how many points you’ll earn per $1 spent or how many points free rides/upgrades will cost. This program will run alongside ‘All Access Plan‘ & Lyft business rewards. It’s not clear if you’ll be able to earn Lyft rewards in addition to the $1 cash back per ride through Ebates. If you haven’t used Lyft before you can also get a $20 sign up bonus through Ebates currently.

I use lyft for all my business trips simply because I want to keep the competition in place and don’t want to have uber dominant

Do you do that much business, to keep the competition between the companies in check? LOL Sounds more like you’re doing a “feel good” move.

This would likely push me to use Lyft most of the time over Uber. I seem to have a better overall experience with Lyft, but use Uber most of the time because of Plat credits.

So you’re going to use Lyft “most of the time” instead of your Plat credits? Hmmm. My guess is that you’re going to move the 10% you use beyond your Plat credits… doesn’t sound like much for either company to worry about or celebrate.

Or Tide uses Uber because he’s accustom to opening the app because of the plat credits? I don’t think winning/losing a single average user is going to cause either company to worry/celebrate ever….

Plat credit is 15 dollars a month. I’m willing to wager most of us who travel for business here spend well over 2-300/mo on uber/lyft.

I’m guessing no more Skymiles after this goes live.

They are keeping the stacking with other rewards plans they have 🤷‍♂️

They’re very explicit about this at the link: “And for all the Delta loyalists, you can earn extra Delta SkyMiles whenever you ride.”

No mention of the TrueBlue one, though, so maybe *that* is what’s getting the ax when this goes live.
