Avoiding Fees
Blue Hill Bank offers a free checking account, the only requirement is that you must open it with at least $10. Their fee schedule says that there is an early account termination fee of $25 if the account is closed within 90 days.
Our Verdict
They currently offer a bonus of $200 cash as well, obviously this bonus is for an extra $100 in Uber credit but you do need to complete a direct deposit of $1,000 every month for twelve months and there are also some restrictions on the Uber credit as well. Personally I’d probably just prefer the cash offer so I didn’t have to worry about the direct deposit requirement for so long. Because of that we haven’t added it to our page with the best checking account promos.

I applied for their checking account before but I’m in New York. They’re sensitive to Chex inquries and I received their denial email the very next day
Are you sure you were denied due to ChexSystems inquiries and not the fact you applied in NY?
I can attest to that. Denied me due to Chex systems as well so they seem very inq sensitive. I am from mass.
How many inquiries did you have and over what period?
