Our Verdict
1.75% APY is the highest APY account (for basic savings anyway), but this account is pretty awful. Requiring a balance of $25,000 isn’t that bad, but the fee structure is awful. A $25 fee for having your balance drop below $10,000 is way too high and is made worse by the fact your charged a $25 fee for withdrawals under $10,000. I wouldn’t recommend this account to anybody. All America Bank will be offering 1.75% APY soon without the fees. Most people will be better suited to a rewards checking account anyway.
Despite the restrictions Metro CU deal is a better one because with a higher balance amount you’re actually earning more in interests. AABs 2.25% is capped @ 10k.
