  • Make cumulative deposits of $5,000 or more
  • Complete a total of 6 deposits

The Fine Print

• This is an exclusive, non-transferable offer, available to the addressee of our direct mail or e-mail offer
• Promotion valid for new Webster Complete Business Checking and Webster Business Value Checking accounts opened between 09/05/2017 and 11/10/2017 at Webster Banking Centers located in Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Lexington, Needham, Burlington, Brookline, Wellesley and Quincy, and meeting minimum opening balance requirements.
• Business customer must qualify for the account and complete either of the following by 12/22/2017: 1) make cumulative deposits of $5,000 or more OR 2) complete a total of 6 deposits.
• To be eligible, the primary business customer must not have had an open checking account since 02/01/2017 at Webster Bank. Account must be in good standing at the time of payment; an account is considered to be in good standing if it has a positive balance and is not in the process of being closed.
• All funds will be transferred into the newly established checking account by 02/05/2018. Amounts will be reported to the IRS, and customer is responsible for any applicable taxes. Offer is available to residents of NY, MA, RI and CT only. Please speak to a Webster banker for details.

Avoiding Fees

Note that military and veterans might get a monthly fee waiver. (I can’t tell if all accounts get the waiver or only some.) There is also a $15 early account termination fee if the account is closed within 90 days.

Business Value Checking

This has a monthly fee of $11.95 that is waived if you do either of the following:

• Have an average monthly balance of $2,500 or more
• Are the primary owner of a personal premier checking account

Our Verdict

This bonus is back and better than previous offers, because you can open the value business checking account with lower monthly fee requirements.
