  • Can only get the bonus once per lifetime

Our Verdict

Previous best bonus was 100k points + $150 statement credit. This offer is significantly better and in my opinion the best of the new Marriott offers. Other increased offers are as follows:

As long as you have a plan for the free night certificates I do think this is worth doing and will add it to the best credit card bonuses.

  • Did the welcome offer terms get stricter? They state you are ineligible for the bonus if you received a Marriott bonus on a personal card from Chase in the past 24 months. Might be worth including under the "once per lifetime" limit you have above.

  • DP: got the dreaded popup that I'm not eligible for the bonus. Have four Amex cards; none are business. Haven't had a bonus on any of them within the last year or 18 months. Never had the SPG Biz but do have the plain Amex Bonvoy which replaced personal SPG. Although a couple of churner matrices says I should be eligible for the bonus, I'm thinking my only move is to cancel the Amex Bonvoy, hope that this great offer is still in place in 30 days and try again. If the offer has expired I'll apply for a Chase or Marriott Bonvoy when there is a good offer.

    Am I missing something here?

  • Answering a question for myself about self-referal:

    I have the $99 AmEx Marriott card (old SPG card), and the referral links says that I will receive 15k points, and that my friend "...will be able to apply for any available Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express Personal and Business Card offers. You can still receive a referral bonus no matter what Card your friend is approved for." I thought, this must be too good to be true!

  • If I'm reading the Welcome off restrictions correctly. If I cancel my Chase Marriott card today, I am eligible for the Amex bonus in a month?
