Marriott/China Eastern Partnership To End On May 26th, 2019

SPG used to have a partnership with China eastern, when Marriott took over SPG they also took over that partnership. This joint partnership will now end on May 26th, 2019. It looks like the official website was updated on April 30th, but e-mails from Marriott only went out yesterday.

My CE account has already removed my Marriott Elite status and now I am a general member instead of a silver.

My Aussie friend flew China Eastern MELbourne–Shanghai (PVD)–PRaGue this March to accept a job as an English teacher in Prague. He flew China Eastern because they were cheapest: About A$700/ US$500 one-way! He earned 25% of actual mileage on Delta. I never asked him how he liked his flights.
He’s not a Bonvoy member, but I am Platinum 2019 + Lifetime Gold.

That’s a shame. I got 2000 erroneous Marriott points because someone linked their CE account to my Marriott.
