Our Verdict
Good deal as it triggers from the first night/stay. Might as well enroll even if you don’t currently have any Marriott deals.
I think the deal is back and I just registered
I have been targeted for this promotion and I have an already booked (pay at checkout) stay with Marriott that falls between the window. Does anyone know whether or not I need to cancel and rebook to qualify since I didn’t make the booking after I registered for the promotion. DoC says that all stays need to be made after registration but no whether they need to be booked after registration.
Colin did you ever find out the answer?
Yes, I was told it would work as long as the stay fell between the timeframe of the promotion
Called in, rep wasn’t able to tick the box to enroll me so a ticket was submitted on my behalf and received an email telling me I’m not eligible. Bummer.
Was able to get it to work. Cancelled and rebooked an existing confirm
How? Did you have to call-in? Still can’t register in the app or online.
the offer was available for me. I was able to register. Once you register, it has a button ‘Book’ that appears.
Hm, it shows up on the front page in the app, but clicking the register link, nothing.
Did it start today? Are they really targetted, or do they simply roll out slow? Do I have to call-in to register, or is simply waiting a day or two fixes these issues?
Several days have passed, and still the same deal:
* stills hows up in the app under “Book” tab, with the “REGISTER NOW” button/link, which brings you to the “Promotions” under “Account” tab;
* the “Promotions” under “Account” tab — only the old promotions are shown.
Same for the website — even following the direct link, can’t register still, even though this promotion is advertised right on their website before you login.
Have to call and ask them to add it manually? What a waste of everyone’s time.
Bummer, looks targeted and I’m not eligible.
I don’t understand marriott promotions. I get targeted for every single one but my wife hasn’t never been targeted for one. We are both gold members and we both have our own bonvoy credit card. Any explaination to this?
Simply, they know that she’s your wife
It’s been a problem for DECADES that SOME people (no matter what status) don’t have promotions show up automatically in their online account, and they have to call in about them. Did you try calling in about your wife’s account?
It predates the SPG merger, it was a complaint on the FlyerTalk Marriott forum for many years before the SPG merger was even considered.
Why they have no been able to fix it even after a decade or more, even after a merger, that I don’t know. I just know it’s a problem that many people report, and that’s not new.
Looks like it’s targeted. Getting you are not eligible for this offer after log in using the link.
If you continue to have problems registering, I would reach out to their support. This has happened to me in the past, and customer service was able to get me registered on their end.
Yes, that is what I had to do. 5 minutes (2 on hold) on the Titanium line and was registered. Could not on line.
Good promo for me anyway. I’m not planning on staying at many Marriotts this year but I need 24 more nights for Platinum life. Now that means only 12 paid nights.
Going to Thailand in March and can rack up some cheap Marriott stays to get over the hump.
Hi from Thailand 🙂
They got some really good long term deals through end of March (maybe more coming
Not sure what “Elite Night Credits will count only toward the status year in which they are posted” in the fine print means for lifetime status.
Do you see the promotion showing up in your account (promotion page) once CS get you registered?
Sucks it’s only on paid stays. Would’ve been nice if you could use points/certs
Oh well
Dynamic award pricing is coming so I wouldn’t go out of my way to earn status and points even with this promo. Gotta see how bad it’s gonna be.
