Original post: Marriott & MGM have announced a multi year partnership. The new partnership will go live October 2023 this wasn’t met and has been shifted to early 2024. Will include the creation of MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy covering 17 MGM properties and over 40,000 rooms. MGM had previously announced a split with World of Hyatt and it was speculated this Marriott move was happening.
Once again Bonvoy members are screwed!Platnuim gets u nothing! Not even reciprocal benefits to MGM properties unless ur the highest Bonvoy
guess my points from MGM have already expired…

I received an email today saying that MGM Rewards Points and Marriott Bonvoy Points are now interchangeable.
MGM -> Bonvoy is a rate of 1 MGM RP = 0.8 Bonvoy
Not sure the other way around.
bonvoy to MGM is 1000bonvoy = 800 mgm. minimum 1000pts to transfer and in 1000pt increments
Correct.
What do you think of converting MGM Rewards Points->Bonvoy? I am a casino player so I always get my room and f&b comped. I have a horde of $3000 worth of MGM points
I would find a property that’s $600+ per night for 60k per night. Stay 5 nights (5th night free) for 240k. Atleast then your getting equal to, if not more, than the current MGM value at 1 cpp.
If you absolutely can’t think of a way to use your MGM points, there’s an argument that says they’re worthless sitting at MGM . . . and what’s the harm in transferring them to Marriott. However, if your MGM points are worth 1cpp, then your break-even after transfer would require a redemption of 1.25cpp at Marriott. Hope this helps.
MGM Rewards currently has a 90 day status match challenge. Has anyone who’s matched into MGM Rewards using that challenge been able to match into Marriot Bonvoy? I’m going to assume thats a no, but I thought I’d see if there’s any available data points.
It looks like tier matching is only one way. No benefit to Marriott status holders.
Marriott ruins everything they touch these days
FWIW this is MGM ruining, not Marriott.
Has anyone seen the functionality to link Marriot and MGM yet? It looks like the instructions to link the two accounts is live below, but the link to “Link a Marriott Bonvoy Account” isn’t appearing anywhere on my MGM Rewards Page

If we book 5 nights on points, I’m assuming we’d still have to pay the ridiculous resort fees… right?
I’d be pleasantly surprised if it’s otherwise. It’s Marriott – they have to charge a Bonvoyed fee of some sort.
Can see them on Marriott website now
cosmo which became part of mgm, and had been marriott before . will be converting their loyalty program in april. was supposed to be feb 1 but got pushed back. Was told by a reward desk rep that they were notified of this but they werent told the exact date in april. cosmo program far superior to mlife, big dropoff coming
