Marriott has purchased Postcard Cabins (formerly known as Getaway Outposts) and entered into a long term agreement with Trailborn. Postcard cabins has 29 locations and over 1,200 cabins. Trailborn has 559 rooms across five outdoor destinations. Full intregration with both brands is expected in 2025.
This is not a huge surprise as Hilton previously announced a partnership with Autocamp and Hyatt has a partnership with Under Canvas.
Trailborn hotels are usually repurposed motels. It was so bad at Rockies
I’m not using an absurd amount of points or $$ to book a cabin or RV or tent in the woods when there are cheap local options and AirBnB’s even in remote areas around national parks
Are any of these glamping sites actually trailside (or within walking distance)? Or are they just in the middle of the woods near a park?
The later. Just about all of them are geographically “near” the park, but in reality you could still end up driving more than an hour to hit up any major trail at the advertised park. Booking any NPS/NFS/BLM campsite is a way better bang for buck – you’d actually end up staying closer to the trails all while paying a tenth of what these crooks would charge.
Can’t wait to pay $750 for a room that used to cost $250. What a phenomenal value for consumers!
I’m not fully caffeinated, I thought that said Marriott made a long term agreement with the Taliban.
Wouldn’t be surprised. They already lobby with Ted Cruz. Taliban wouldn’t be that far off.
Yeah, they are nearly the same thing. Clown.
They are though. Both Canada Cruz and Taliban passionately vouch for destroying societies and taking away people’s rights.
Team cabins are about to get Bonvoyed.
